A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Elsinore was held an
the above date. The meeting was called to order at the; hour of 7 o'clock P.M.
with. Mayor C. A. Lovejoy in the Chair. .
Councilmen H. Gallagher, G. B. Skeane, Geo. H. P~?omen Jr: and C. A.
Lovejoy answered the roll call.
Absent: Councilman 5, M. Rice.
Minutes of, the prevcus meeting held on June.-12th a;ere then read by the
Clerk and there being no corrections or omissions were approved as read.
Thereupon-.:the Clerk presented to Council a bulletin issued by the Calif:
League-of Municipalities giving notice that the allocation to cities frcm
Gasoline Tax revenues will commence with July`lst; 1933;rega:rdless the effective
date of this legislation and that approximately ~k~30.000.00 will be allocated
to the cities on:0ct..lst 1933•
Y`hereupon it was: duly moved and.. carried that. said: bulletin be received. and
placed on file.
Councilmen Skeane then reported-to.;'Councl,tY,~at the work :of binestoning the
Lake has been: completed, stating:that`3~ tons of.blue-stone:was;used and that he "
had secured-nine°men.~ho volunterred their service for the work and.that fourteen
row:: boats and;two.pov:er boats v;ere used.. to distribute the bluestene in the>lake.
!"hereupon it was duly moved and carried that the report of Councilman Skeane
be accepted:.
Thereupon it xas moved by Councilman Morton and seconded by. Councilman Shee.ne
that the Mayor be directed to issue a. proclsmation declaring July 3rd curing the
Golden Jubliee parade a legal holidr:y and requesting all business houses to ,close
during this period, r:hich met ion upon. vote was carries. .,,

1"hereupon. it was moved by Councilman. Morton. and; seconded by Gounoilman Skeane
that the Pdayor be instructed on behalf of_Councii tovrrite ~ letter of_thanks tc
Mr. P)elaney for the use of his.tractor and-other equipment on the sewer ~;.ork,
which motion upon vote was carried.
Council then considered the matter of placing an add in tY,e special Jubilee
edition of the Leader Press.
Pthereupon it s:as-moved by:Councilman Skeane and seconded by Councilman
Pdorton that: it ,be authorized to purchase a page, add. in the.-specie.l Golden Jubilee
eniticn of the Leader Press at an agreed price of ~12.K0 which motion upcn vote
was carried.
Thereupon the Clerk reported to Councal that J. ~'. George, H. E. Bruce and
L. L'?. Byerly had each :filed an individual signed petition requesting Ccuncil
to repeal the rental license.
Ffhereupon Councilman Gallagher brought up for Councils further consideration
the matter of petitions filed requesting the repeal of the rental license a.nd
upon Councils further discussion and consideration of said matter.

It v,aa moved by Councilman Gallagher and sconded by Councilman'bTortoh that`the
City Attorney be instructed to prepare and Ordinance amending Ordinance ~ 161
repealing Sec. 36 thereof, providing for s. rental license.
The vote on said motion resulted as follows:
Ayes: Councilman Gallagher and Morton.
Noes: Councilmen 5heane?_and Lovejoy.
Absent[ Councilman Rice:
The moticn failing to receive the necessary vote to carry vaas declared lost.
Councilman A4orton then reported to Council that because of a forced absence
from the City he would be,unable to attend Council meetings for a periodof sixty
days and requested that he be granted a leave of absence for_this period,
Vhereupon it was moved by Councilman Sheane and seconded by Councilman
Gallagher that Councilman Pdorton be granted:a sixty day leave:of_absenee which
motion upon vote v:as una~umously carried.
Thereu,~on the Chair reported to Council that he. was informed that begining
July 1st there ~~aould be a new set up for }i. F. C. funds and suggested the
submission of a street-improvement project for aid from said-fund ahd.requested
Councils c-nsideration of the matter.
iy!hereupon it was moved by :Councilman Morton ?,nd seconded-by:Counciiinan Sheane
that the Chair be authorized to make application for R. F. C: Funds to°be used for
grrding and surfacing Heald Ave. from Sprixig St. to Yellogg St ,: &lsa the-inter-
seeting streets bete;een.Graham Ave:: and Heald Ave.. except:La.ngstaff St.: to ccntinue
to Summer Ave, which motion upon vote was unanimously carried,
["!hereupon it was moved by Councilman G4orton and seconded by Councilman.. Sheane.
that it be authorized to donate X12.50 to the Clevelin Realty Corp, for the Boat
Races to be held,on July 2nd and 3rd tiehich motion upoh vote eras carried.
Upon request of Councilman ,Gallagher the Chair:-appointed Councilmsh.:Morton
and Sheane to serve on the auditing committees -
Bills as audited by the auditing Committee were then presented to Council and
on motion duly made and on call. vote carried ware ordered paid and the Glerk was-
instructed to issuewarrants in payment of same.
Councilman Gallagher voting yes on all bills. excepting bills For special
sewer.
Thereupon .their being no further business to come before Council on motion
duly made and carried Council adjourned to_meet in regularsession_on 1v4onday July
10th at the h-ur of ~ o'clock P.M. in the City Hall the usual meeting place.
