The meeting'asas celled to order at the hour of '] o'clo'ck p.M. with Mayor C. A. Lovejoy in the .chair. Councilmen H. Gallagher, C. B. Sheane, S:. M. F.ice and C. P.. Lovejoy answered the. roll call. Absent: Councilman Geo. H. Pdorton Jr.:' Minutes of the previous meeting held. on May $th ~^iere then read by the Clerk and there being no corrections or ommissicns sere approved as read. Thereupon the Clerk presented to. Council a communication from the League of California Municipalities reporting that A. B. 112 providing for the allocation of a portion of the State Gasoline Tax to cities,'has been passed and y:es on-the Govenors desk for-his signature. Fthereupon it gas duly .moved and.ce.rried thet said communication be received and placed on file. The chair then reported tc Council that Assemblyman Phillips had published a notice requesting those interested, to 'support certain legislation measures in erhich he v:as interested and helped to pass, by writing or wiring the Govenor urging-him o sigm s.±d bids, among them'A. B. ~ introduced by Assemblyman Phillips providing-for.the redemption of past delinquent taxes without any penalty or interest if-radeemed v;ithin a period up to Dec. 31; 1934. Vhereupon it was moved by Councilman Rica and seconded by Councilman Sheane that the C1erY, by instrt;cted on behalf of Counoil to send a Tire to<` - Govenor Rolph urging him to approve and sign A. B. #, which motion u~>on vote bras unanimously carried. Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council the., application of-H. J. Stevens for an Off Sale permit to sell beer at his place of business located at Lakeshore :.Drive and Spring St. , yhereupon it was: moved by Councilman, Sheane-and seconded by`Councilman Rice that the application of H. J. Stevens for an Off Sale Beer permit be approved which motion upon vote gas carried.. Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council a-communication from the.Gladding PicBean Co., submitting a quotation on sey;er pipe, quotingl3¢' per. foot less' $°~ cash discount on second quality 8" clay see;er.pipe deliverd F.-0: B. job at Elsinore. ?"hereupon: it,uas agreed by Council that the:Clerk by instructed to acknowledge receipt of said quotation and to advise the Cladding bicBean Co. that more pipe r+iil be needed and request that the}y submit a sampler cf pipe quoted on. Thereupon the Clerk presented tc Council the ~:ritten bid of Jack Green Agent for the Firemens Fund Indemnity Co:, quoting a premium, of X125.00 to cover Blanket Accident Ins. on the Elsinore Volunteer Firemen expiring on May 20th> 1933..: i ~; ;- , REGULAP,. k4EETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL P:Tay 22nd, 1933 QPhereupon it was mooved'by`Councilman Rice a.nd seconded by Couhcilman Sheahe that the Volunteer Firemens Accident Insurance be awarded to Jack Green 4-hich motion upon vote was-carried. Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council a commuhication from City Attorney Eugene Best in regard tc claim of J. Pope Boynton and IiTrs. ^illie Boynton Va City of Elsinore, sta=ting that after conferring with claimants attorneys he secured their offer to accept ~`1O.OC in full settlement of their claim and advised that it is a matter of policy for the Council to determine vrhether or not they mill accept the proposition which he he±d obtained-or reject the claim. Upon Councils consideration of the matter it .was agreed that the- communication be received and fild a.nd thra the damage claim of the Boynton's VS the City be laid over for further consideration:. Councilman Gallagher not voting. ;Thereupon Resolution.# 264 was introduced. and read'being a P.esolution of the Ctq Council of the City of'Elsinore<fixing the ihterest r~xte en the City Hall Bonds dated March 15,.:1933 at the rate of 5~~; per anum, payable semi- annually on the 15th day of March: and 15th dey of Sept. of each and every ye<r upon all sums of principal thereof-.unpaid at such dates, i~hereupon it was moved by Councilman Rice and secendec by Councilman Sheane that Resolutiott # 264 be passed znd adopted i~.hich motion was carried by the folla~~ing note: - Ayes: Councilmen Sheane, Rice and hovejoy. Noes: Councilman Gallagher. Absent:. Councilman MoT.ton ;°.: -. Thereupon Council further considered the matte r. of delinquent business and rental license fees due the City and upon ahe Clerks report on collections made it v.as agreed that times for payment with discount be extended. -. - ''hereupon it ~°as moved by Councilman:Rice and seconded by Councilman Sheane that the Clerk be instructed to bill all delinquents giving them notice that a 30~ discount will be alloyed on payments made_up to june 10th and that this is a final notice before-..act ion. to force collection v,~iil be taken, ~r:hich motion upon vote was unanimously carried.. Bills e.s audited by theauditing committee were then presented to Council and on mot ion. duly made and on call vote carried'a~ere ordered paid and the Clerk was instructed to issue i'~arrants in payment o£ same. Councilman Gallagher voting yes on all bills excepting one in favor. of D. R. Crane.
