The meeting was called to order at the-hour of ~ o'clock P.M. with Mayor C. A. Lovejoy in the Chair. Councilmen: H. Gallagher, 0. B. Sheane, S. Pd. Rice,.Geo H. Morton, Jr. and C. A. Lovejoy ansvrered the roll call. Absent: ATOne. - i Minutes of the previous meeting held on April 24th were then read. by the Clerk and there being no corrections or omissions :ere approved as read. Thereupon the Clerk presented tc Council a communication from Supervisor .Stanfield, acknov,ledging the receipt of-the letter of appreciation in behalf- of Council expressing their thanks for his support and cooperation in the matter of cleahing up the Lakeshore and suggesting that whenever he can be of further_service to Elsinore, Council have but to ca_11 oh him. whereupon it was-duly moved and carried th<=t saic communication be received and placed on file. Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council a copy of letter addressed to Dr. Ll'. B. wells, County Health Officer, from C. G. Gillespi, Chief of the State Bureau of Sanitary Engineering reporting on the analgsis of the sample of water taken from the lake and advancing possuble theories which may have caused the sudden death of fish in Lake Elsinore. whereupon it was duly moved :and carried that said communication be ,received and. placed on File. Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council the applications of F. Curt Miller, H. G. Stevens and w. A. Card requesting that they.be granted a permit to sell beer in-the City of Elsinore. whereupon it was moved by Councilman Rice and seconded by Councilman Tv4orton that said applications be received and placed on file for further consideration at the next meeting of Council, which motion upon vote was carried. Thereupon the Clerk prese to to'Cou it a c unication from A ty's Kelley and. Hews, Counsel for ~.1~~ ~o"~/ `zr"'~L~1.~~~'~ with their enclosed affidavi~mand up the City of Elsinore for. the payment of X3000 and X1000 damages for personal injuries received in an automobile accident, resulting from driving through the dip at the intersection of Main and Franklin.Streots. whereupon it was duly moved and carried that the matter be referred to .City atty.Best with: instructi¢dn~'that he reply to same:. A corrm~unication from City Atty. Best was then presented to Council reporting that he. has been served with complaints in two actions .which have been commenced in the United States District Court, one by the Security Bank of Blackv~.~ell, Oklahoma and one by the Brown, Crummer Investment Co. Of Kansas Plaintiff vs City of Elsinore and its officers Defendants, said actions filed account nonpayment of delinquent Bonds and interest issued for 1926 Mater supply and Distributing system. whereupon it was moved by Councilman Gallagher and seconded by Councilman Mortoh that said matter be referred to the City Attorney with instructions that he .file an answer to said complaints which motion upon vote was carried. i Mr1YVTE AECOr~D of REGULAR.N~ETING OF THE CITY COUNCIh MEETZIYG HELD OlY THE 15t DAY OF May _____ _ _ __._..__.._ 6TANO ARO FORM C54 rs 33 Y.6. ANO ARD MINV LE RECOR Ordinance #222 an 'flnergency Ordinahce of the City of Elsinore Regulating. the sale of Beer, Ale; Porter and other beverages, providing a:License therefore and a Tax thereon was then introduced and presented to Council on first reading. [A'hereupon it was moved by Councilman Gallagher and seconded by Councilman Rice that Ordinance '222 be passed to its second reading which motion vfas carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen_Gallagher, Sheave-, Rice, Morton and Lovejoy. Noes: None.. Absent: None. Thereupon there .being no further business•to come before Council on-motion duly made and carried Council adjourned to meet in regular session on fl4onday May 8th at the. hour of ~ o''cloek P:M. in the City Hall the usual meeting place. ___ ~i~~ MAYOR ~ C JR~-
