A regular meeting of the City. Council of the City of isinore ~:as held on the
above date. The meeting v:,as called to order at the hour of '] o'clock P.",?. Keith

the Clerk and there being no corrections or omissions !none approved as read.
The Bldg. Supt's monthly report for the month of Jan.was then presented to
Council and on motion duly made and carried ,as accepted and ordered pia.ced or. file.
"thereupon the Treasurer's monthly report e-as presented to Council and on :notion
duly made and carried coos accepted and ordered placed on file.
Plhereupon the Clerk presented. to Council a communication from the 50th year
Anniversary Celebration Committee requesting that a. representative of the City
Council be present at a rieeting to 'oe held in the ~.i'omans Club Nouse on Feb. 2~th
at x:30 P.:Ivt, to discuss plans for said celebration.
f4lhereupon the Chair appointed Councilman P,ice to represent Council at said
meeting.
Thereupon the Clerk read a communication from Hollis R. Thompson, Cha.irma.n
Gasoline Tax Committee, League cf Calif. t;unicipalities acknov,~ledging receipt of
the City's appropriation, to be used for• the purpose incident to carrying on
the work of the Gasoline Tax Committee in acquiring information to affect a proper
allocation of the Gasoline Tax fund to the cities and e~:.pressing their sincere
appreciation of Councils prompt art ion in recognizing this valuable service..
r?hereupon it a.s duly moved and carried that said communication be received and
placed on file.
This being the time fixed by lave for canvassing the returns cx' the Special
I4?unicipal election, held on Tuesday, the 'jth day of February, 1933> in the City of
Elsinore, California., for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters cf sa.id
Gity, the follov,•ing proposition; to-tvit:
"Shall the City. of Elsinore incur a bonded debt of Ninety-five
Hundred Dollars {.9500.00), for the purpose of the acquisition.,
construction and completion by said city of Elsinore of a
certain municipal improvement, to-wait: The erection and con-
struction of a City Hall Building for municipal use."
a.s provided in Ordinance No. 218, passed and adopted on the 23d day of January, 1933>
by the .City Council of the City of ~J,sincre.
It eras moved. by Councilman Sheane and seconded by Councilman Rice th•~t
Councilman Gallagher and Councilman Rice be appointed Tellers of the Council to
officially canvass the returns of said Special lunicipal L'lectien.
This motion vias carried by the follo~?ing vote:

The Tellers of the Council thereupon proceeded to officially canvass the
returns cf said Special T.,dunicipal Election and submitted the following report
relative thereto:

Question and proposition submitted to the vote of the electors:
PROPOSITION:
"Shall the City of;~lsinore incur a bonded debt of Ninety-five
Hundred Dollars 09500.00) for the purpose of the acquisition,
construction and completion by said City of Elsinore, of a
certain municipal improvement, to-wit: The erection and
construction of a City Hall Building for municipal use."

Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Sheane and seconded by Councilman
Gallagher thet the foJ.lovJinp; order as herein recorded be and the same is hereby
adopted:
t?'H.EREAS, a Special flfunicipal ?slection was held in the City of Elsinore,
California, on Tuesday, the 7th day of February, 1933> in accordance with. the
provisions of law and as designated and provided in Ordinance No. 218 of said
City, For the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors of said City the
folloi=;ing preposition to-~~~it:
"Shall the City of 3lsinore incur a beaded debt of Ninety-five
Hundred. Dollars (~`i500.00) for the purpose of the acquisition,
construction and completion by said City of :Elsinore, of a
certain runicipal improvement, to-ia~it: The erection and
construction of a City Ha11 Building for municipal use."
and,
"`N~PWAS, it appears from the report of the Tellers of 'the Council, appointed
to officially canvass the returns of said Special municipal +aection, v;~hich
report is hereinabove recorded in full, thrt the total votes east at said
election in the City of Elsinore eras 427 votes: that the number of votes cast
in Consolids.ted Voting Precinct A for the proposition vvas 300 votes, and against
the proposition Maas 127 votes, and that the number of votes cast in the entire
City for the said proposition eras 300 votes and against-said proposition ~~~a,s"
127 votes; that the proposition received the necessary t4J0-thirds affirmative
vote of alJ. the voters voting at said `3leetien.

NOSR THPREFD;'F, EE IT RESOL`.*`:D that said report of the Tellers of the Council
be and the same is hereby approved and adopted and that the said proposition
relative to the said question submitted tc the qualified voters, be and the same is
hereby declared to be adopted•and carried.
This maticn carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen: Gallagher, Sheane, P.ice, and Lovejoy.
Dloes: None.
Absent: Councilman Geo. H. AROrton, Jr.
Thereupon Ordinance X219 vans introduced and presented to Council oh first
reading being an Ordinance-of the City of::].sinore, California, providing for the
issuance of City Hall Bonds, fixing the amounts and time snd nlace of payments of
such bonds authorized at Sbecial ft?unicipal election of February nth, 1933, and
authorizing the issuance thereof.
`Thereupon it leas moved by Counci]man Rice and seconded by Councilman Sheane
that Ordinance -'219 be passed to its secbnd reading which motion ,ras carried by
the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen: Sheane, Rice and Lovejoy. Councilman Gallagher not voting
Noes: None.
Absent: Councilman Geo. H. ftiorton, Jr.
Councilman Gallagher then reported to Council that upon inspection of the trees
on E]_lis Street in front of t?:e Elsinore Court he found that due to excavation to
bring street to proper grade v. hen paved the trees were left high above Grade and
dangerous and suggested that they either be trimmed back or replaced with ether
trees.
whereupon it was agreed by Council th-t Councilman Gallaghers suggestion be
carried out.
Bills as audited Uy the auditing committee vere then presented to Council
a.nd on motion duly made and. on call vote carried were ordered paid and the Clerk
was instructed to issue ~rarrants in payment of same.
Thereupon there being no further business to come before Council om motion
duly made and carried Council adjourned to meet in regular session on D4onday,
February 2~th at the hour of ~ o'clock P.P.i. in the City Hall the usual meeting
place.
