The meeting vaas called to order at the hour of ~ o°clock P.I~d. with TIa.yor C. A. Lovejoy in the C,ha.ir. . Councilmen: H. Gallagher, C. B. Sheane, S. fl?. P,ice, Geo H. ;~orton, Jr. and C. A. Loveioy ans~<ered the roll call. Absent: Atone. L4inutes of the. previous meeting held. on Jan. 9th aaere then read by the Glerk and there being no corrections o-r omissions were approved as read. Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council the Bldg. Supt's monthly report for the month of Dec, and his annual report for. the year of 1932 vrhich mere on motion duly made and carried accepted and ordered placed on file. whereupon the Cleric presented to Council a communication from the League of CaliY. ?~Iunicipa.lities regarding to proposed legislation agreed upon by the Legislative Committee of the State Supervisors Association and the Gasoline Tax Committee of the Leage of Calif. P•iunicinalities cuhich would provide for allocation and distribution of Gasoline Tax money to be divided 509 to the County and 50r to the City based oh the registration of automobiles in each city and reouesting Councils cooperation in the matter by the adoption of a Resolution authorizing payment of Y15.OO to the League of Calif. 14unicipalities for furnishing assistance and. information ~=.-ith reference to Gas Tax allocation. aratter, ?;thereupon after Councils due consideration of said Resolution i~261 etas introduced and read being a resolution of the city Council .authorizing payment of „415 to the League of Calif. Collatz appeared befcre Council a,nd on behalf of the lsinore Lcoster Club reported that they v,~ere apcnscrin;~ tha entertainment program for Irnnerial Higheray Pssociation meeting to be held ir. Elsinore on Jan. 28th and scLcited Council for a dohation to help defray the epenses of said meeting. ??hereupon it eras moved. by Councilman Rice and seconded by Councilman P,"orton that it be authorized to donate r10 to the Elsinore Bcosters Club to help to defray expenses of the Imperial ~3igh~-ay Associztion :Besting to be held in Elsinore on Jan. 28th ~ohich motion upon vote c;a.s unanimously carried. Thereupon Courcilma.n CTallaghcr reported to Coti:ncil that he_has been r,uestioned by citi?ens regarding the matter erhether or nrt under the 7.aw the Council ,ould be obliged to levy an added tax. to create a sinking fund for tY:e na,+m_ent of the proposed City Hall bonds ar.d interest and suggested thz:.t the City Attrrne~+ be instructed to render a u~ritten.opirion on the matter. • ~Ir~hereupon it stras r:.oved by Councilman Gallagher and seconded. by Councilman Sheane t'.nat the City Attorney beinstructed to render a ~~ritten ecinion as to *,rhether or not it cril7. be mandatory under the lave that Council levy a soeciall or added tax for the purpose of payrnent of the proposed City 'ti_<11 bends and interzst, which motion upon vote ~~~as carried. Thereupon Ordinance ;'218 seas introduced and presented tc Council on first reading being an Ordinance of the City of 37sinore calling and provir'ing for the ho7.ding of a special election to be held in the city of 'slsinere on the nth da.y of February, 1933 and submitting to the cualified voters of said city a a-rtain proposition for the incurring of bondL;d indebtedness for the acquisition; construction and completion of a certain municipal develcpmer.'t tcrit:--The erection and construction of a City fiall Building for municipal use. Thereupon there being no further business to come before Council on motion duly made and carried council adjourned to mzet in regular sassien on Dr;onday J-~.n, 23rd at the hour of ~ o'clock P.M, in the City Hall the usual meeting place.
