A regular adjourned meeting of the City Council of the City of Elsinore was held on the above date.- The. meeting-was called to order at the hour of .7:.30 P.M.;:with Mayor E.:C-. 'i~ickerd in the Chair.. Councilmen: O. B. Skeane, F. .A..RGach, N. Matich and E. C. ansduered' the.roll call. absent: None. P;Iinutes of the previous meetings held on 0et: 22nd, rov. 3rd and Nov. 12.&.13th were then .read by the-Clerk and there bciiig no corrections or omissions were approved as read. €Vhereupon it yeas moved by Councilman Roach .and seconded`by Councilman Matich that F. E. Smith be appoint.ed'to fill the. vacancy. as Couneilmarn.caused by he death of Councilman Gallagher which motion was carried by the following vote: .yes: Councilmen:, Skeane, Roach ,,iviatich and'dYickerd. Noes: None, .ibsent: None. Councilman Smith was then Sworn into office by the Clerk and took his-Chair. rhereupon;the Treasurer's monthly report was presented to Council and on motion duly made and carried was adcepted and order- ed placed onfile. Thereupon the 31dg. Supt's monthly report was presented to Council and on motion-duly made'and carried was accepted ahd ordered placed on file. ~i - ~~ ~.::_. Thereupon the Clerk presentcd<to Gouncila card from ~rlrs. (Harry Gallagher gratefullyacknowledging and thanking Counoil for the flowers and their kind expression of sympabhy. I _ .~Ihereupon the Clerk presented to Council a communication fro m (the Resolution Committee of the Elsinore Vlomans Club enclosing therewith a copy of a Resolution resolving that the 'wdomans Club go on record ~s endorsing the passage ,and adoption of a curfew ordinanoe by the Council and requesting Council to take favorable action.-on the matter.. , ~ 21so a further request was made asking the City Council to place the old locomotive bell which was given to the City by officials of the-Santa Fe. R. R. :C o. ,, in°some- uitable location in the new City Hall. `Jdhereupon it vlas reported to Council that a curfew Ordinance is now in force and effect but that same is-not being. enforced. Curfew Ordinance and that the fire 'siren be charig'ed'` to sound once and used as a curfew signal. The motion receiving no second he Chaor declared the motion lost. Thereupon Councilman T,~atich reported that-upon.investigation of the broken light standard in front of the Y~i11 View Dairy he recommended that it be abandonded and that the wiring be repaired to complete the. circuit .:along that street. whereupon it vvas moved by Councilman roach and seconded by Councilman Sheane that it be authorized to abondon the light standard on Graham Eve. in front of the Iillview Dairy<and that the wiring be ordered repaired to complete ahercircuit along said street, which motion upon vote was unanimously carried. Thereupon it was suggested by Councilman Roach and agreed to ; by Council that a vote of thanks be. extended o Councilman P.~atich for the fire use of his road eouipment and good work he ac~omplish- ed,in the grading ofthe..City streets._ - 'Phereupon Council took up for consideration the matter of calling forbids on ten bar>.els of engine oil for the dater Dept.s; ;Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Roach and seconded by Councilman Skeane-that the clerk be instructed_torask for„bids on 10 bbls. of red engine oil. to be opened on Dec :,lOth,the.-:next re- gulas+ meeting. date of,Couneil, which motion upon vote:vvas carried.: Thereupon. it was moved b~ Councilman Smith and seconded by Councilman Sheane:that it be authorized to transYer the sum of X408.47 from-.the ,eater-Fund..which-motion._upon'vote was unanimously carried. -~ Bills es,audited by the auditn committee:were then pre- sented to Council and on motion duly made and on call vote carried were ordered paid and the Glerk was instructed to .issue warrants,in payment of same...; Thereupon there being ;no further-business;,to come before.Council on motion duly made and carried Go.uncrl_,adjqurned to, meet in::reg- "r ular session on ~~~onday Dec.,lOth at thehour of, 7:30;P.M, n'rthe .
