A regular meeting of the-City Council of"the Gity"of Elsinore was held on the
above date. Ttte meeting was. called to order at the hour of 7:30 P.Id, with htayor
N. Ratich in`the 6hair.
Councilman:. F. H. Smith, 0. B.'9heane, F: A. Roach, J'E,`9~ills and N.
~ ~+atich answered 'the roll call,
Absent: 'None.

and there being no corrections .or omissions sere approved as read.
4Jhereupon•the Clerk`presented 't'o'Council-a`commumi'cation Yrom C. P. Hornadap,
Principal Elsinore Union High School, written in behalf of the Board, of :Trustees
oY eaid school, in a~hieh it-was requested that Council order to vacate and abandon
twenty feet of the southerly side of Heald Ave. extending Yrom Silyer St. to Mohn

Ah'ereupon it was moved by-Councilman Roach and seconded by Councilman Smith
i that the'Chair appoint a`committee to'consult the City. Attorney relatiue.to the
vacatiom of twenty feet of`Hea1d Ane', between`Si1veY`and Mohr Sts. in the. matter
and necessary proeeedure to be taken and report to Council at the aext meeting,
which motion was earried_by the°following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen: Smith, Sheane Roach; Adills,'and fdatiah.

i The Chair appointed Councilmen: Smith and. Roach to serve .on said; committee.
Thereupon Council took up'Por further consideration the.Qity Ordinance
relative to 'the'napecton and grading 'of milk' sold in she city and tho continue-
tion of the County Health Dept.`inspebton service.
A number of the local dairymen being present, expressed themselves favoring
the enforcement'6f the Ordinance and urged the continuation of`the County
milk inspection service and agreed 'to obligate themsel"ves for the payment .of
~35.OO quarterly to cover the fee to the County for the milk"'inspection service.
~heneupori it was moved by Councilman Pdills-and seconded by Councilman.Sheane
jthat the-`City Council-agree to`obligate themselves'for she payment-of X3$.00
quarterly to the bounty for milk ittapeetion.serviee, commencing Jan. 1, 1936
and that the Clerk be instructed to notify Dr.,w. ~. Jone,s to this effect, which
motion was carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilman: Smith,. Sheane,-.Roach, !dills and.Matieh.
Noesa None.
Absent: None.
Thereupon the Clerk.. present ad to Council., the written protest of. Alfred M.
Lewis Inc. protesting and stating that the City License Tax, upon delivery trucks
is unconstitutional and unfair''and enclosed their check in payment of License-.due,

marked paid under,.,protest.
Whereupon it was agreed by,CouneiL-that the matter be .referred 'to
Councilmen Smith and Roach for-their-attention. ,- -.
"Thereupon the Clark presented to Council a communication.from Ralph,,-
B, Smith, Director W.P.A.. advising that they-are ready to start a sswiug '
project.; in Elsinore providing. that Council•will furnish, uitable space to
house the projaot and-asked to be advised if suitable epace.is available.
Whereupon it was-moved by Councilman Mills-andseconded:,by Councilman
Sheave that it be author-ized to rent the room. in the Morton .Bldg. on Graham
Ave, to be used to house the sewing project,-..at s,rental of ~12.54•per month,
'which motion .was carried by-the following vote,:
Ayes: Councilmen;. Smith,wSheane,- Roach,.Mi11s..and.Matich,

Thereupon it was reported to Council that-.the W.P.A.. offiee_is.re-.
questing that they be furniahad with a breakdown covering equpment,to.be
'furnished by the Citq in connection with the. El ainore.:remodeing pumping .
>plant project.
Whereupon it was-duly aroved and earrisd that said matter be referred to
the Water Commissioner and Citg Engineer.
Thereupon Councilman Etills reported to Council that.upon,his<consideration
and investigation of Mr. Yagels bid-for the collection and disposal of City
%" "-garbage and rubbish, he daes_not feel it advisable to make any.ehange at;;thia
time.
• Whereupon'it was moved by Councilman Mills and seconded by Councilman
Roach that the,Clerk be instructed to notify Mr. Yagel that the City,Gouncil
do not feel justified in making any change at .this ,time ir: the matter of -, _,.
"`garbage`and rubtiiah, which motion upon.vote was carried. '
Thereupon Ordinance #229 :was presented to:Cauncil on first reading,-.being
en Ordinance daolaring the soliciting and peddling of;goods, wares and
merchandise on°private.property to be a misdemeanor and providing for the
abatement of the same as a nuisance..
Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Mill s. and seconded,. by Councilman
"Roach that Ordinance #229 'as read be passed to ats second reading which motioa
was. carried by the Ymllowing vote: '

Whereupon Council. took up for consideration the .matter: relative; to: :_
.the annual Christmas Tree program.

operate and work with"committees from the local church and civic organizations
