` A regular meeting of the City Council of the City. of Elsinore was held_on
the above dat®: '
The meeting was,.called to. order at the hour of ~:j0 P.M.,_with Councilman
N. Matich acting Mayor protemin the Chair.
Councilmen: F. H. Smith,. 0. B. Skeane, F. A. Roach and N. Mauch answering
the rb11 call. ~ '
Absent: Councilman: E. C. wickerd.
•Minutes of the previous meeting held on Mar. 11th were then read by the
Clerk and there being no"corrections or omissions were;approaed as-..read.
Thereupon"the Clerk presented to Council the ,written resignation"of Mayor
E. C. wickerd. '
whereupon it was moved"by Councilman Smith and seconded_by Councilman Skean
that the•resignation of ;'Mayor E: C. wickerd be,aecepted to take effect at once
which motion was carried by the following vote
~ Ayes: Councilmen: Smith, Skeane, Roach and Matich.
Noes: None:
. Thereupon it was agreed bq Council-that .the appointment, of a 9dayor to
succeed E. C. 9Pc'kerd'reaigned b'e laid over $o the next regular Fneetng of
Council.
whereupon it was moved by Councilman Aoach,ead.seconded by"Councilman Smith
that J. E. bSills'be appointed Councilman,to" fill the vacancy caused by; the
resi nation of E.

Thereupon J. E. Mills the,nevrly,:appointedCouncilmsn was sworn onto office
by the"Gitq Clerk and then took his Chair.
whereupon it was moved.by Qouncilman Mills,"and seconded by Councilman
Roach that N.~Matieh acting Mayor pro-tem be...a,uthorized-to -s#gn;all;we,rranta ~,
~ and documents untiill a Mayor is~appointed'which motion upon vote was unanimous-

Thereupon the Clerkpresen$ed to Councal a communication from J: C: Neblett
Secretary of the `Elsinore Chamber of Commerce"advising that a meeting has been"
called for Friday evening March 29th for the purpose of discussing and consider-
! ing ways and means for carrying out a proposed campaign of advertising. Elsinore
and extending to the Council an invitation to attend said meeting.
whereupon the`bhair requested that Council as a whole, including the City
j Clerk make it a point to attend said Chamber meeting.
Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council a communication .from wm. w. Evans,

suggesting for Councils consideration certain economy measures.
Whereupon it ivas moved by Councilman Mills and seconded by Councilman. Roach -
::that said communication be received and placed, on file.
Thereupon the Clerk reported that in response. to the, published notice: inviting
bids 'f or a sewer pump that's number'of bids were received and thereupon groeeeded
to ppen the following bids:

Whereupon after"Councils discussion and slue consideration of the bids
received it was agreed that the matter.be laid_ over",for further consideration at
a meeting of Council-on Wednesday; far. 27th.
Thereupon Council took up for consideration the matter of purchasing a-set of
sewer rods acid tools for th®' sewer dept, a representative oY the Crane Co. being.;
present 'submitting the fohowing'offer. They;agrsed to ship a set-for a,thirty
day free. trial and if satisfactory the price for a complete set to be $234.75
payable one-half down and balance next December.
Whereupon it was agreed by Council that set be received for trial and if
satisfactory to be purchased at price and terms as specified.
Thereupon pu6`lc official bond'on behalf of M. Harmon `was presented to Council
for their approval.
Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Roach and seconded. by„Couneilman,Sheane
that-said bond for ~2000.00'on behalf of M:`Harmon-Water Glerk be approved-and .
filed with:-the CityGlerk which motion upon vote was unanimously carried.
Thereupon Council discussed and considered the bill submitted, by Dr. S._J.
Brimhall, Health Officer for=service's rendered and it was agreed'by Council that
said bill be allowed and paid. however that the Chair appoint a committee. to.
investigate the Health Dept. and the duties. of the Health Cfficer.-
The'Chair appointed Councilman°Mills and RoacY`to serge on~this committee .-:
