Whereupon it was duly moved and carried that said report be accepted and ordered placed

Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council notioe,reee~.ved'.from Edward Hyatt,3tate Engineer,
that the applications of the Temeacal eater Co, and S,C.Bonge to appropriate water from the
San,Jacinto River,a•ill.be considered- at a hearing ~Co;;be held.;on Tueaday,Jam3ary 25th,et_:10

Thereupon;a letter received .fromE,Q.Su113.van,State• Highway Engineer,expressing his-thanks
-to Council for their letter of;December 30th was,reed.-:and ordered•recei~rsd and filed.
•Thereupon Ordinance No;231 was presented to Council on second°readingbeing-an Ordinance
of the City of Elsinore repealing Ordinance Ne.194 of said City.

Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Mills end seconded by Councilman Macy that Ordinance

Thereupon-the, Clerk presented-tc-Council a communication from City Attorney Beat,in
I ~ which--he submitted a detailed report on action takexi on thee-proposed settlement of
the-Brown-Crammer-vs the.City of Elsinore suit. He stated that in his opinion the re-
,I quirements made it-inadvisable to permit the judgement to be entered-against the City
' in the-amount previously agreed upon and he accordingly refused-to proceed with the
proposed settlement.
4.'hereupon;it was duly moved and carried that said communication be received
i, and ordered-placed on file.
- ! ~ Thereupon Councilman Macy reportad to Counei.l-that he has been requested by th
Garden and Beautification -0ommittee"to bring to Council's attention. that it is their
- + desire to landscape and care for the triangular-plot of ground opposite-the-High School
and make-it a-sightly-entrance to the-Cty,providing that Council=.would grant them the
free use of water.
!, Upon Council's-due consideration-of the matter,it was. moved by Councilman
', Perret-and-seconded by Councilman<Smith that Councilman Macy be authorised to report to
the Gardexi axid Beautifieatiom Committee that Council agree to furnish them without coat
up to-3000 cubic feat of water per-month,whieh motion was carried by the follovring vote
Ayes.....Councilmen Smith,Macy,Perret,Mills and 6datich.

Thereupon Gouncilman Pdills reported to Council that it has; come to his atten-
tion that the sidewalk ixi:front of the Timmis property on &'est Graham Ave.has been badl
,damaged'causing-a ha2ardoua condition and suggested that the owner be gived due xiotice
of this condition, with request that same be repaired.
tlVhereupo-n it was moved by Councilman-Mills and seconded by Councilman Perret
that the Clerk-be directed to write a letter to Hugh Wa3ker,agent for t he Timmis Estate
" Viand notify him regarding th~:+dera-aged condition of .the sidewalk in front of their pro-
perty and request that he have same-repaired-without delay,otherwfse they will be helA
ireaponaible for-any.-damage claims which may result from same,whish motion upon vote was

Billa in°the amount of X2045.54 as audited by the auditing Committee were then
presented-to Council and.oxi motion duly made and on call vote carried were ordered paid
(and the.Clerk was-instructed-to issue:warrants in payment. of same.

Thereupon there being no further-business to come before Council on motion dal[
de and carried-Council adjourned to meet in regular session on .Monday,Jamuary 24th,at
' the hour of x:30-P.M. is the City-Hall,the usual meeting place.
