The *neeting eras called to order at the hour of 7:30 P.4,1. vrith 'i2~or Ifatach in the
chair.

' Thereupon the Chair ordered that the reading of the minutes of the laet meeting be
dispensed.+with.
'/hereupon the Clark, presented to,Council the written t~7~plication of Claude Callison
for the position of ^?ater Clerk ahd`other offices involved in the event of an occurring vacancy.
P'Jhereuoon it yeas moved by Councilman ,!fills and seconded by Councilman P:Se.cy that said
'application be received and filed ~+rhich motion upon vote eras'carried. - -
Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council the r•+rritten resi~na.tion of F.A.Roach as '.`'ater
Clerk,City Judge and other offices held,to become effective on August 25th, 937,
;thereupon it was moved by Councilman Perrot and soconded by Councilman DGills that the
resignation su'omitted by F.A.Roach be accepted totake effect as requested on stugust 251937,vrhich
motion upon vote vr'~s unanimously carried,
Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council a communication ,`rom „ir,A.G°orlin together i^rith
other letters enclosed there~rith.
.Thereupon it wa.s a.groed by Council that same be laid over for further consideration.
Councilman F.H.Smith who was absent on roll cail,notr appeared and took his chair
Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council a communication from Roscoe R.Hess,atorney
for the Broi^an-,,^,ruramer Coin vrhich he .made demand upon Council to provide a tar, levy at the rate
of w.10 per ?;100,00 of taxable property in the City,for the purpose of complying ~:+ith their ob-
ligations under the Improvement Bond. Act,lgl5.
<h:~reupon it eras moved by Councilman T:}ills and seconded by Councilman a.cy that the
matter of fixing a levy for tax rates for the fiscal year of 1937-38 be laid over until advice on
same can be secured from the City Attorney;v~hich motion upon vote we.s unanimously carried,
Thereupon it ~=ras moved by Councilman Perrot and seconded by Councilman t--'ills that
Claude L. Callison 'ce appointed to fill the ;oositions of +:vater C1erk,City Judge,License Clerk
and Building inspector, said appointrnant to ba effective as of August 25th,1937,which motion +,vas
-carried by the follo~~ing vote ---
