P1.P=,atich z.ns~,rered the roll call, Absent:- iQone. _ 'iiinutes of the last meeting held on February-23rd vaere then read Uy the Clerk nd there being no corrections or• omissicns,were approved as read. .Thereupon the Tree-surer's monthly report was presented -to Council e~hich on motion-duly made and. carried eras accepted and ordered ple.ced on file. ^`hereupon the Clerk presented to Council the monthly reports of F.A.Roach covering January collections of the T`ater Department in the amount of Y~635.7~ and the February collection of business Licenses of s'SB,E3,IIuilding Permits„+7.00 attd Court Fine s,~45.00 and Dog Tax,r12.00 crhich reports on motion duly m ado ane;.c ., carried w.~ere accepted and ordered placed on file. Thereupon the Clerk read a letter received from T:'.rs.Tdiary Du Bois in which she expressed her thanks to the Council for the good ~~ro rk r.',one ixr grading and repair of Lovell Street,which letter on motion duly made and carried =;a.s received and ordered. placed on file. Thereupon tiie/Clerk presented to Council,the League's Legislative PUlletin P1o.u,reporting the beginning of their campaign for the amnedrnent to the idational Barking lEct to -make it possible for banks which are members cf the.l°ed~~ral ,Reserve System to pay interest on public deposits and urge Council to immediately contact the California 'J.S.Senators and the Congressman from this District requesting that they support ci.R.Bill Noe4215 which eras irtrociuced by 1,!r.Eicher and is designed to exempt public deposits from the provisions of the Federal Law. , 'fihereupcn it ,.^fas moved 'uy Councilman Burnham and seconded by Councilman Tlills that the Clerk bi directed to forward letters to the California U.S.Senators and Congressman Sheperd and request them to support li.R.- Iv'o.4215,ivhich motion upon vote ~r:as carried. Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council a communication from the Nevada California !s'lect-ric Corporation relative to the City's complaint that the,rYxave over- paid street light bills during the past five ;nears ^:..nd advised that upon a carefiul check of the reccrds,by their':iir.Ol.dendorf and the City Clerk 'that it ~°ras found that the City has not beer. ever-billed or 'ties overpaid their street light bill as sus- pected, khereupon it was duly moved and carried: that said corununic<aion be received and filed. `„'hereupon the Clerlc presented to Council a cornmmnication received from the Browr_-Crunm:;r Co, in l~rhich they ^^^dvise thst they are interested in discussing a se'ttlament of the 1915 Act ~ltater IIond dr-linquency and requested that -they br.• fur- nished a stag^ment of the City's liability based on the amount of the pu'rcha.se price of the property a.t the first tax sale. laPnereupon it •aaas moved by Councilman 'fills and seconded by Councilman Perrot that the City Clerk be. directed to interview the City Attorney relative to said r f _.. _. Upon Council's consideration of thechair's report,Councilrran ':':;ills in- troduced the following d~esolution:- Resolution do, 303- Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of L~lsinore that the ,riayor of t'rre Gity of Elsinore be and he is hereby authorized to sign and verify the complaint against the Ternescal's;"ester Co;npany for declzsa.tory relief and for injunction,heretofore dra~.ron by the City Attorney and that the City Attorney bF instructed to file said co.:,plaint at once. Councilman Perret,City Park Coramissicner,reported to Council that he w~as.planning some extensive inrgrovernents in the City Prrk,suggesting $hs need o;!' an ir..mediate installation of concrete tarles ~-,nd benches. and a brick incinc:ratorand,in generr•_l,cleaning un and beautifying the park. The Council unanimously agreed to support the Pa.rlc Commissioner in carrying out his program of park. ir.~provemen$< ' Thereupon Councilman imith reported. to Council that 11e has consulted the City t;ttorney relative to the matter of granting the High School Board a flat mmnthly rate for ~!ater service and stated Ghat he was. advisee? by the attorney that the Ordinance fixing vaater rates v,~ould ha~~e to be amended to provide for such a rate. before the' request-of the School Board cooed be granted,.. Thereupon it eras moved. by Councilman Burnham and seconded by ^ouncilsan F'e'rret that the action of Council takenat a recent Council Lteeting authorizing that 1';ngineer L.
