The Clerk being absent the Chair appointed t~fater Clerk C. L. Callison to

and N. PF.atich answered the roll call. Absent: None. -

TThereupon a'communication from the•Arnerican Legion i+as presented to Council
in which"request was made that they bs'given'`tTie flag-pole''°that was•$aken dovrn at `
the corner of Graham eve and t,Tain St, to be placed at the Legion Hall.
'Thereupon it was rioved by'Councilman P,4i11§` end seoonded'by'Councilman'Perret
that the Chair appoint a committee to confer with the ~nerican Legion regQrding
their request For the flag-pole, with authority to act on the matter, which motion
upon vote was carried.•`' - -
The Chair appointed Councilmen Pdills and Harmon to serve on said'coinmittee,
Thereupon-copy of-a letter from City Attorney Eugene'Best addressed to-the
'eAterans"'Welfare'Board; relative to cancellation of taxes om Lot 4 of"blk 33"of
?dt Elsinore Heigfits`was'presented to Gouncil'aiid on motion duly made a.nd carried
i said communication was received and ordered placed on file.
Thereupon a'letter from the Federal Reserve Bank`of San Francisco `addressed to'
the Gity Treasurer relative"'to`the pa~jment of Gity Hall Bonds; direct`to 'said'
Bank vahen due, vas presented to Council and it was agreed by Council that same be
filed for further consideration at the next regular meeting.
4dhereupon a letter from Y3rs. Goldie B. Langstaff and family acknewledgeing
receipt of Councils letter ;of condolence, eras read, and on motion duly made and
carried was received and ordered filed.
Whereupbn.the.Clerk:presented to Council a communication...,from.-9P..C~"Fraser
of the Fidelity-=and Casualty Co. of Td. Y. in eahich they denied liabilit~r"en the
claims of Ernest Johnson and ^,T. H. ~Yssner for damage to their cars caused by
Joe Alf en driver of his truck while collecting garbage for the City..
SYhereupon it was moved by Councilman f.4ills and seconded by Councilman Harmon
that said communication be referred to the City Atty. for further handling, which
motion upon vote wa.s carried.
Thereupon the Clerk presented for Councils consideration the application
~ of Irwin Newman for a license to operate card tables at the Lakeside Auto Camp.
thereupon it wa.s moved by Councilman Tdills and seconded by Councilman Harrison
that the license application by P,?r. Plewman be referred to the Police Commissioner
for investigation and report at next regular meeting, which motion upon vote was

Thereupon the Treasurer's monthly report was presented to Council and on
motion duly made and carried was accopted and ordered placed on file.

Whereupon it was duly moved and carried Ghat said report,be accepted and.,ordared
