A!regular meeting of the City -Council of"the Gity of slsnore was held on
the abo~ze date.'- The meeting mas called to' ordsr •at `the hour of 7:30 P.F:?.' with '

"- tdnutes of 'the •last meeting held 'on fRay 9th were ahen read by the' Glerk and
there being no corrections or omissions were approved `as-read.
Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council a communication from the Society
for the 'Beautification of ETSino're requesting that they be`granted'a permit to-
install two grills on the City Lakeshore Beach and that a committee 'from the
Council be appointed to meet with them to plan for suitable locations of said
grills; ,. _ ..
'P~'hereupon"it was mooed by `Councilmen Pdills end secohded by Councilman
Perret that the Beautification Societe be granted a permit 'to install tiro grills -
on the City Lakeshore Beach and that Councilman Harmori'be appointed a"'conunittee
of one to meet with the Society to plan for suitable locations for the install-

grant 'the School' perrission to'carry-out a certain-work as provided for in
Encroachment•Psrmit x`86474 issued to thom`by'the California Division of High-
ways granting them permission to construct a'rubbTe wall along the highway arid'
extending from Mohr St'. to Silver St:
whereupon st i+ias moved 6t' 'Councilman t.411s'and seconded by Councilman Macy`
that the School be granted permission to construct a rubble wall as provided"for
by plans and specification approved by the State Division of Higknvays and work
to be done under their supervision and 'that the' Clerk b's instructed`to issue"
a written permit to tho'School; granting them''pormissoa to carry out this '
workr,'~nhich motion upon-vote was carried.
Thereupon Councilman MilTS"'reported to Coun"cil that the'Hgh School Board-
have requested permission to close Heald eve, between P1!ohr and Levis Streets
and Silver Street between Sumner & Grahaan Ave and Hill $t, between Heald and
Sumner Avenues, on May '29th between the"hours of ~ a§ to 6:3d'P.?E, during which
time 'a 'special progr"ain is to be'carried'out on.-the school-grounds and"-they
wished to avoid being d'sturbed'by passing"cars. ''
?Nhereupon it was-moved by `Councilman Pdill's`and' seconded by Councilman
Perret that the permit requested bg ths'High School' be granted, which"motion upon
vote waslcarried. - - •
Therupon the Clerk presented to Council a letter received from Dr. Lvalme
R: Ingalls in t~ihich he expressed his thanks and appreciation to Council for the
spendid.:assistance rendered him by Pdr. T. E. Keegan on Sunday-afternoon, ~aay-- -
1§th at which time his boat capsizod in the middle of Lake Elsinore.
Idr. Keegan being present reported to Council that during the summer season
that' will no doubt have many occasions to render sunch a service to persons in
danger on the Lake and requested Councils cooperation By furnishing a good set

that this matter be referred to Councilman Harmon with authority that he have a small'
set of:drags made and .that he secure priceg;:on,a good set of:fiald;glasses and report

Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council a letter received from E. 0. Sullivan, ,
District Engineer, Davision o,f High~rays, in-which ha advised-.that:. funds are,:.now:
available for the State to proceed with the proposed:impro~ernent of Kellogg,,Lowe11:
and Chaney Sts. and Sumner Ave, in the City of Elsinore as provided for by t,7emorandum i
agreement deeignatad project„f~2 which was approved some time ago. ;He stated:,hovrever
that it may be several xreeks before the State•.is in a position to-commence this work-
as all day labor forces are occupied st this time repairing flood damage io highways. -

Thereupon the Clerk presented to Couxicil a Petition signed by 256 Citinens and
taxpayers of the City of Elsinora, requesting Council when fixing the annual. Tax
budget to provide fora one mill tax. levy to ,be used; :for advertiang,purposeeiand
the advancement of the City of: Elsinore, the.monay to be disbursed through the
Channels of the Chamber of. Commerce.<.
whereupon it .vas moved by Councilman i'~ills, and,,eeconded, by ~Counen.lmanIdacy that, ,
said petition be received and placed on file for consideration nt the regular time
fen fixing the annuel__ ax .levy,. which .rnotian =upon vote was carried-., s
Thereupon,Pdr. F. A. Hitchcock appeared before Council .and reported that„the-State
is in a position to Co--sgons4r ~+~ith th° City._l;ight twgrk project using w. ,P. A. labor
coat and suggested that Council appont,a committee to work:+.vith him;in arranging
proposals for a number of light work projects fo,r the City of Elsinore.
~;lhereupon it .was ,agreed.-by Councih that-the Chair appoint. Councilman J.,_E.-Pdills
to serve on this committee.
Thereupon,Council,took up; further, consideration ahe application-of 47.-P.. 'Nelson-
for permit to;,install,cement-steps between the curb.:and sidep•alk in front of,.his~
place of business and upon due consideration>of the. matter .it was agreed that it- is..
unadvisable to Hermit the placing of steps, however that he be gx•anted permission to '
install. a cement ramp. ,between .the curb .and idewalkand protect same;,with a,-guard
