Minutes of the last two meeting held on April 11th and 13th were then read
by the Clerk and there being no corrections or omissions were approved as read. _
Thereupon the Clerk'presehted to~`Council`afcommuncation`ror.. Mayor 7Jeldon
of Ontario extending to Council and other City officials an invitation to attend
the Citrus Beltsmeetinp:at Ontar"io Hotel, Friday evening and requesting rinmber
of reser-vationssbe :forwarded promptly:"
'Ahereupon it was agreed that five would attend said meeting and the Clerk
was diredted to forward reservations for that number.
Thereupon the Clerk presented to Gouncil s petition signed by a'number oS
No, fldain St. business man protesting the removal of twq,ornamantal`light '
standards installed in front of the 1~TOrtcn Bldg, and petitioning the council
to reconsider the matter and allow said~'street"lights to remain in service'.-~
A communication from the Homesteaders Life Assn., owners of the Pforton Bldg
was, also :presented:to Gouncil iri duhich'they protested the removal of said street
lights.
Whereupon it was mp:ved by'Gouneilmah Mills and seconded by Councilman PAacy
that said, petition and communicatioia be"rece'i~~sd`and filed; which motion up

Thereupon'the wiritten application of F.ay Singer for appointment as a City

It was.moved by:hRayor Matich anal seconded by Gounclmah:Pdacy`that Councilman
Mills and Councilman Smith bA,appointed tellers of the Counc~lto officially canvass
the returns of said general municipal election,,which motion was^carried'by the•''.`-

Whereupon it was'duly moved and carried,-that the report. of the aellers~of the'
Council be approved ahd adopted. ..
Thereupon Resolution ~.-319 was,. introduced and„read:beng a:.resolution<of-•the
City Council 'of the City of Elsinore.,declaring the result oT:the.general :nuhicipal'-'
election.

Resolution X319 be passed and adopted as read, which motion-;v.as;carried by`.the --" "

` Thereupon the Chair called for a ten minute recess.
The time .for recess having expired the Chair called the meeting to order with
all members of Council present, TJThereupon Clerk G. J. Kalina administered the oath
of office to all duly elected officers.
The retiring Council then adjourned and the new officers took charge of their
respective offices, when the following proceedings were had.
Upon roll call the following Councilmen were found present. P;i. ?iermon, Roy
P.dacy, P,enry Perret, J. E. LSills and N. Matich.
~"!hereupon it was moved by Councilman Perret and seconded by Councilman PSills
that N.'Matich be appointed to serve as Mayor of the City of ~~lsinore and presiding
officer of the City Council which motion ~sas carried by the following vote:,

measure.

that Ordinance ~ 233 be passed to its second reading as read, which>;motion vies
carried by the following vote:

It was than moved by Councilman Is4ills`and seconded by Councilman Pl;acy that
all appointive officers of the City bs requested to tender their resignations
and that:'applicat'ions for sair~ offices"be received for consideraton'at the next
regular :meeting-of Council-, which motion was carried by the ,follotiving''vote:
