Minutes of the last meeting held on Jan. 24th vrere then read by the clerk and there being no corrections or omissions were approved as read. Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council the monthly report of the City Crater Clerk, reporting eollections_for the month of January as follows: :.µ_~ .. Water" CoTTectiona" ~ 829.8~9~~~~~~ .. Court Fines 40.00 City License 448.18 Bldg. Permits 7.50 Total Col X1325.57 Whereupon it was duly moved and carried that the report of the Water Clerk be accepted and ordered placed on file. Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council the Treasurer's monthly report, which on motion duly made and carried was accepted and ordered placed on file. Whereupon the Clerk presented to Council three communications received from City F.ttorney Best. First regarding City of Elsinore V. S. Temescal Water Co. advising that de- fendants have made a motion for new trial which was agreed on .Jan. 31st. The Judge took the matter under submission and that as soon as decision is rendered he would advise Council. Second advising. that he has written to the Brown Creemmer Co, informing them that if they will accept sixteen thousand dollars in full settlement for the 1915 delinquent bonds, that Council will put the matter on the ballot for the general election on April 12th and that their reply to same xvas that they are willing to accept $17,000.00 cash providing that said amotant is paid not later than Ploy 1st, 1938. Third advising that he wired the Brown Creemmer Co. that Council offer *~16500.00' for full settlement of said bonds and that they replied by telegram that they are not interested in settlement for leas than X17000.00, Upon Councils due consideration of these matters, it was moved by Councilman T~".acy and seconded by Councilman Perret that it be authorized to instruct the City Attorney to proceed to prepare the necessary legal proceeding to vote upon the issuance of $T15000.00 of general bonds at the coming general election, providing that if bonds carry, there is necessary time to dispose of them prior to May 1st, 1938, which motion upon vote was unanimously carried. Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council a petition signed by a number of Kellogg St. property owners requesting Council to clean and reseal the paving joints on said street, to prevent possible checking and underraining of the cement pavement. _ _ __ MINUTE RECORD OF REGULAR P~:~'TING OF THE CITY CCUPIGIL MEETING HELD 017 THE 14th STpNOA SO FOAM G94 PAINTED IN U.S.A. Mater Co, to Lake Elsinore ~Aater Users'Asa'ir covering'their daily water ~~ith- drawals from their Railroad Canyon Reservoir during the months of Oct,..., Nov, Dec. and'Jan.-<were'presented'*to' Council for their information. `"' ~~ '"°Mhereupori:t was moored by'Conncilman Pdills and seconded by Councilman Srnith that the Clerk be instructed to notify,tho Temescai 'Rater Co. .that it is the reques of the-City Council that in the future a copy 'of their montPyly`statement of water withdrawals'be mailed to`the City for their 'files, which ;notion upon,yote tivas, - carried..:;: - .. ., . ,. ~ , Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council three communications received from R4rs Pear Beach, Secy of.the Garden & Beautification Socioty. s _...: w ~ ~ _.~ v ,__. . ~ ~ .. ~___" First expressang~their appreciation for the fine improvement being made in the City Park, Second offering to furniQh two receptacles for paper and trash, to be placed on ?.Rain St,,,providing that Council agree to furnish a like number, Third expressing their protest to the removal of any trees on P!!sin St. requesting Councils support in this matter, Upon Councils considration of these matters it vras agreed that the purchase of receptacles for paper and trash be laid over to the next-meeting of Council and that the letter protesting the removal of any trees on P;tain St. be referred to the City Planning Commission. Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council a copy of the Findings of Fact and conclusions of Law and the Judgement in the case of the City 9S Temescal `,"ater ~~o. which now have been signed by the Judge and filed, .the copy being submitted for the information of anyone interested.
