A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Elsinore was
held Qn the Elove. date. The meeting was called'to' order at the hour of 7:30 PPS,
with Mayor Matich in the chair:
Councilmen: C. A. Lovejoy; Roy Macy; Henry Perret; J. E. Mills; and
N-.,Matich. answered roll call. Absent: None.
is ?inutes of the last regular meeting held on December 11th and-a special `
meeting held on December 19th were then read by the City Clerk and there being no
corrections or omissions were approved as read.
Thereupon a communicatioti from City Attorney Eugene Best was presented
to Council in which he advised that the 4th District Court of Appeal on December
14th affirmed the judgment of the Superior Court in the Temescal Water case and
that he will at the proper time file cost bill to recover such costs as are allowab
'Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Mille and seconded by Councilman
Macy that said communication be received and ordered placed on file which motion
upon vote was carried.
Thereupon a communication addressed to Mayor Matich from the Secretary
of the Citrus Belt Division of the League of California Cities was presented to
Council in which she advised that at the last meeting of the League held at Indio
it was decided that they would like to have Elsinore be the host City for the next
meeting to be held January 26th and the Mayor's reply to same was read in which
he extended a most heart welcome to all of the member- cities to attend the next
meeting at Elsinore on January 26th.
Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Lovejoy and seconded by Councilman
at that the action of the Mayor be approved which motion upon vote was carried.
'Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Perrot and seconded by Councilman
oy that it be arranged to hold the meeting of the Citrus Belt League at the
ry Hotel on Friday January 26th 1:rhich motion upon vote was unanimously carried
Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council a check in the amount of $500
issued to the City by the Chamber of Commerce Baseball field project Finance Com-
mittee•said sum being available from collection of contributions by citizens toward
the expense of the baseball field project.
Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Mills and seconded by Councilman
Macy that said check be accepted and turned over to the City treasurer with in-
structions that he deposit same to the credit of the general fund, which motion
upon vote was carried.
Thereupon Resolution #341 was introduced and read being a Resolution of
the City Council accepting a deed grom C. R. Stibbens, County Tax Collector, con-
veying to the City Lots 1 to 16 both inclusive , Block 15, Town of Elsinore.
Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Lovejoy and seconded by Councilman
Macy that Resolution # 341 be passed and adopted as read which motion was carried
by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilman Lovejoy; Macy; Perr4 ; Mills and Matich;
Noes: None
Absent: None

Thereupon Bills in the amount",of 6543.51 "as - audited by the-,auditing committee., were
presented to Council and on motion duly made and on Bail vote carried were „ordered „paid and the Clerk was'
instructed 'to `issue 'warnants in payment of same.
Thereupon there being no further business to cone before Council on motion duly made and carried
Council adjourned to meet in regular session on Monday Sarivaxy.,8,, 1940 at the;Iiour, of 7:30 1'.tel.
in the City Hall the ususal meeting place.
