E; Mills; and N Matich.` Absent" None.; Minutes of the last regular meeting held'on November "13th'wer e'then read by the Clerk and there being no corrections or omissions �,iere,al,proved,asread ;Thereupon a dommurjrcatiori''from City Attorney, lugene Best was pre- sented to the Council in which he advised that the appeal of the Temescal Water Company came on regularly for hearing on November 14th and that he and Attorney alcFar]:and, were .ipresent °sand Pre sentefl thews oral, agreement'and ns all briefs " have, heem,fi7eS1 tha, .das,e -was' submitted' for �d6clss.on 'and that''a d ecision would 'likely be rendered, within 30 to 60 days. , , Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Mills and seconded-by Couneilma"n lvlacy that said communication be received and ordered filed which motion upon vote was carried. Thereupon a report from the State Division of Highways was presented to Council in which they submitted a statement of the g cent gas tax allocation for the thid quarter of 1939, Elsinore receiving $352.59, Whereupon it was decided and duly moved and carried that said report be received and ordered filed. Thereupon encroac? ment permit issued by the 'State Division of Highways to the Burgess Refrigerating Cokpany granting them permission to construct a drive- way to Graham Avenue in front of Lot 3 Block 9 of "akeshore Drive Addition. subject to the approval of the City Council was presented to Council for their consideraticn Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Macy and seconded by Councilman erret that said permit be- referred to the Street Commissioner for his attention which motion upon vote was carried. Thereupon Ordinance #237 was presented to Council on first reading being an Ordinance of the City of Elsinore relating to the care and expenditure of moneys received from the State of California under the provisions of Article 5, Chapter 1 of the Streets and Highway Code. Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Mills and seconded by Councilman Macy that Ordinance #237 be passed to its second reading which motion was carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen: Lovejoy, Macy, Ferret, Mills and Matich. Noes: None Absent: None Thereupon Council took up for consideration the matter of placing Stop Signs"When Pedestrians are Crossing" on Main Street in the Business District and it was agreed by Council that the Street Commissioner be authorized to purchase two smch signs and have then placed at the most effective locations. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Mills and seconded by Councilman erret that the Clerk be instructed to forward written notice to Tnm poii,, A ,Ar w RE, EGULAI MMING. I XF T_HJ,; CITY :COUNCIL NOVEMBER 27, 1939 566wart, and C. call their attention'' to the?defe'ctive cond'it on of the sidewalk -in' front of;their properties, the Mint Cafe on fain Street,, S,terl, ng Pharmacy, - Graham Avenue side and Plaza Block between Peck Street and Heald Avenue and advise them that Council.have ordered that said sidewalks he repaired „without „delay and that they will be held responsible for ariy njury' that maybe sustained 'as a result o$, the defective con- dition of their sidewalks, which motion upon vote was unanimously, carried,,., Thereupon it was moved _by Councilman, Lovejoy and seconded. by. Councilman Ferret that the City Council'eitend a vote of thanks to the ' Veterans of Foreign Wars for the large flag which the y p resented to the City and placed in the Council Chmbeis,hWhich motion upon vote.was unanimously ,Biiis in the amount of 7,ras audited by'the Auditing C6mmittee were then presentedi to Council an on motion duly made and on.,call vote;- carried,wer&,ordered paid and the Clerk was instructed to i's-'sue warrants, in payment of ;same. -= Thereupon there being no,further business.to come, before Council :on motioniduly made and carried Cci ounl adjourned to meet in regular session on Monday = :December'llth'at` the hour of 7:`30 PdS at the City Nall the usual meeting place.
