MEETING HELD ON THE 23rd
DAY of OCTOBER S9 39
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Elsinore was held
on the above date. The meeting was called to order at the hour of 7:30 P.M. with
Mayor Matich in the chair.
Councilmen: C. A. Lovejoy, Roy Macy, Henry Perret, J. E. Mills, and
N. Matich answered ti:e roll call. Absent: None.
Minutes of the last twolmeetings held on October 9th and 16th were then
read by the Clerk and there being no corrections or omissions were approved as read.
Thereupon Carl Peterson, Chairman of the Chamber of Com,erce Finance
Committee before Council and reported that his Committee have to date collected 0380
cash which amount has been placed on deposit in the First National Bank and that
they hold additional pledges in the amount of X160 and further assured Council that
the Committee will continue to make every effort to solicit added funds to bring the
amount up to 'the sum which they have agreed to raise to help cover the cost of the
proposed Municipal Base Ball Park Improvement.
Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Mills and seconded by Councilman
Macy that the bid of Clarence Crow at Up, per cubic yard be accepted and that he be
awarded the contract for excavating and grading the proposed Municipal Baseball Park
in accordance with adopted plans and specifications which motion was c ^rried by the
ollot ^ring vote.
Ayes: Councilmen: Lovejoy, Macy, Perret, Mills, and Matich.
Hoes: None
Absent: None
Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Mills and sec,:mded by Councilman
Lovejoy that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare t e necessary contract to
be executed by and between the City of Elsinore and Clarence Crow and that the Mayor
and the City Clerk be authorized on behalf of said City to execute same, which
motion was carried by the following vote:
yes: Councilman: Lovejoy, Macy, Perret, Mills and Matich.
Noes: None
Absent: None
Thereupon Councilman Lovejoy reported to Council that he has had further
council with SRA representatives and that these have submitted for Council's con-
sideration proposed contract covering suggested SRA projects for the City of Elsi_@ Q;
Upon Council's due consideration of said nna tter it was moved by Council -
man Mills and seconded by Councilman Lovejoy that action on the matter of entering
into a contract with the SRA be deferred to a. later date, which motion upon vote
was unanimously carried,
k, Thereupon bills in the amount of $1402.48 as audited by the auditing
committee were presented to Council and on motion duly made and on call vote carried
were ordered paid and the Clerk was instructed to issue warrants in payment of same.
Thereupon there being no further business to come before Council on
motion duly made and carried Council adjourned to meet in regular session on
Monday, November 13th, at the hour of 9: 30 FM. in the City Hall the sual meeting
place.
