A regular meeting` of the 'City Council of the City of Elsinore vas held on the

Councilmen: C. A. Lovejoy, Roy Macy, Henry Perret, J. E. Mills and N. 14atich
answered the 'roll call. Abseilt: None.
I.9inutes of the last regular meeting held on Jan. 23rd «,ere then read by'the
Clerk and there being no corrections or omissions v ra approved as read.
The Water Clerks monthly report ,teas then presented to Councilm•showing collec-
tions for the month of January as follows: -

Whereupon it -,as duly moved and carried that the Dater Cier•ks report be accepT-
ed and 'ordered'' placed on file. = --
Thereupon the Cleric presented to 'Council the annual- Franchise Tax` Statement
submitted `by the So. Calif. Gas. Co. covering the period from Jan. lst''1938 to'`Dac.`
31st, 1938 together with their check for #345.98 to cover the amount of fran-
chise tax due.
Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Mills and seconded by Ctuncilman Macy
that said report be received and filed and that the check for 6345.98 be deposited
to the credit of the general fund, which motion upon vote was unanimously carried.
Thereupon 6. communication -from the Yell 6 Holderrnan Corp.`i1, %as presented to
Council in which they solicited a. share of the City's business'and upon motion
duly made and carried said communication was received and ordered filed.
Thereupon a communication from R. T. Hicks County Audltor`csas pr'sented to
Council, submitting a corrected statement of tax collections, advising that his
office had inadvertently posted the amount of 6212.84 to the-'credit of• 1920
Elsinore{ Street'Imprcvement fund instead of to the 1926'rrater`Improvement fund
and advised that the correct segregation of-these tcio`funds is as follows:

:Thereupon it etas moved by Councilman Iui11a and seconded by Ccuncilman Perret
that the Clerk be instructed to issue a demand for the transfer of the sum of
6212.84 from the 1920 St. Imp. Fund to the 1926 :Water Imp.. Fund to correct this
error ii,hich.motion upon vote was carried.
Thereupon report from the Division of State Highways was presented to Council
submitting a tabulation showing the January 1939 quarterly payment of the one -
quarter cent gas tax allocation for Streets of lijor Importance in Elsinore in
Elsinore to be x'319.87 and equal amount being apportioned for expenditure of the
State Highway within the City.

City.Ccunc -i1 of the, -City of Elsinore: approving Memorandum of agreement providing for
accumulation of one -quarter. cent gas tax allocated for streets' of ;Major Importance
and authorizing that the Mayor and City Clerk be directed to sign, said Agreement, for
and•on behalf of the City,

that Resolution #328 be passed and adopted as read. which motion was carried by the
following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Lovejoy, Macy, Perrot, Hills and Matich.

Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council, proposals submittedq,by, the Union Cil
Co. and the Texas Gil Co., to enter into an; agreement with :the- City.to furbish the
City's gasoline requirement for one year, at,`tkie following quoted prices. „16¢, 13!
and 122¢ per gallon.
Upon Councils due consideration of all proposals submitted, it was moved by
Councilman Iyills and seconded by Councilman Lovejoy that the gasoline contract be
awarded to the Union .Cil.Co.; and that the Mayor and the, City Clerk be authorized to
execute said agreement fox. and. on behalf of the City, wIbich; motion was carried, by
the followinv, vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Lovejoy, Macy, Perrot, Mille and Matich.
Absent: : None.,,
Noes', None.
Thereupon proposal received from the American Pipe and Steel Co. r,as presented to
Council in which they agreed to Furnish the City 6_inch,Armor clad,, -ater pipe at the
price of 88� per foot.

Thereupon there being no further business to co.,:e before Council on motion duly
made and carried, Council adjourned to meet in regular session on Monday i�ebruary 27th
at the hour of 7:30 P,iH. in the City Hall, the usual meeting place.
