The meeting was called to order at the hour of 730 P.M. with Mayor Matich in the chair. ,_", " Councilmen: C, A. Lovejoy, Roy Macy, Henry Perret,,;J. E. Thereupon a communication from E,, H, Spoor, Chairman, League Street and Highway Cbmmittee,"which was addressed to Tr4ayor'Matich; was presented to Councils advising tY:at on V7ednesday September 2"5th"at~'10:00 O''clock A;M. the California Street and-Highwgy Survey Committee=`wil'l hold a`public hear- ing on street and highway mattes in the auditorium of°the`California State 'Building in Los Angeles, and urged that notice of said meeting,, be given to people in our eouuaunty"wYio'might 6e interested, with a'view to having them attend this 'hearing - , ?Thereupon it was"duly moved and carried tYiat said communication be received and ordered_.filed.. Thereupon a communication from A. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Mills and seconded by ?.Councilman. Lovejoyshat-the Cl`er_k-be .:d-irected=to notify-the Automobile . Club to install a Boulev&rd`Stop=sigh at^Lake-"=Shore`Drive'-'and VJ.`Grahain Auenue; which:moton upon vote was carried.• _~ ~.~' Thereupon the Clerk reported to Council that Mrs. E. J. Goodme has requested that Council give consideration to the improvement of _ _;Auenue.,-6 in.ahe Pepper Grove Tract by grading said__street_and_aaso to.__.. widerirthe railroad crossing leading into said street. Upon Councils consideration of said request it was agreed that said matter be taken under advisement. Thereupon Resolution X349 was intiorduced and read being a Resolution of the City Council providing that the. salaries of the Chief of Police and Assistant Chief oP Police now fixed at ~95•GO each, be paid from funds as follows: 50°fo from the In Lieu Tax Fund, 30f from the Liquor Control Fund and 20o Prom the General Fund, also providing that the salary of the Garbage Collector be fixed at '~115.OC per month effective as of October lst, 1940. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman P;Tills and seconded by Councilman Macy that Resolution #349 be passed and adopted as read, which motion was carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen:-- Lovejoy, Niacy, Perret, Mills and ri4atich. Tdoes: None Absent: T7one Thereupon Council took up for further consideration the matter of adopting and passing an Ordinance providing for the regulation of motor driven boats on Lake Elsinore. Thereupon it vras moved by Councilman T~Iills and seconded by Councilman Tv,acy that the matter relative to the adoption of an Grdinance regulating the operation of motor driven boats on Lake Elsinore, be tabled, which motion wa"s carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen:-- Lovejoy, TJ;acy, Perret, Mills and T~atich.
