Absent : - ?'done. -: , Thereupon t~ussell Baumgartner representing the residents on Grand Avenue, appeared before Council and reported that the practice ,of operating,motor-rdriuem;boats on Lake,Elsinere without mufflers was verysannoyingtothe residents of Grand Avenue and that they have petitioned the County Board of Supervisors to pass an Ordinance regulat- ing;~he=operaia~on oi' motor;-driven, boat s, on-Lake Elainore.but,were advise ~° by .the i3oa=rd that, before, taking, action on, the .matter that; they:v~rould. - -first like to-be nformedras to the City Council's view onthe-matter:, and he therefore requested of Council that they-lend their ;cooperation:`:: by requesting the County Board of Supervisors to pass such an Ordinance. Oustott appeared before Council and reported that he is placih~ a bowling-alley in the 'City, eontain'ing four alleys and. that he finds that City's License fee of X4.00 per quarter per''alley, vrhich is an excessive license fee and much higher than other lieens'e fees fixed for other comparative businesses and therefore,.r~quested that he be granted relief'by ah ariendment of `'the ordinance providing a 1'owers~license Yee. Thereupon Councilman I4?ills Street Commissioner, presented to Council the itemized bill submitted to him by the County Road Departmen for use of road ecuipment and labor furnished for the improvement of Streets of major Importance:amounting to the sum of $788.48 Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Mills and seconded by Councilman Pdacy that said bill be allowed. and paid and that~'j~6.84 of said amount be charged to the SpecialGas Tax ImF. Fund and the balance of X11.64 be charged to the Special Street Fund, which motion upon vote was carried. Thereupon Councilman P„ills Street Commissioner reported to Council. that it is his desire, at an early date to submit to the State Department a list of Streets of It?ajor Improtance, proposed for improve- ment in 1941 and presented to Council for approval a list of said strzets. He also suggested that he deems it advisable that E. Pottery Street is subject to a great quantity of flood craters and that the application of a seal coat vrould prevent possible damage to said street. ~•Yhereupon it was moved by Councilman Perret and seconded by Councilman Lovejoy that the Streets proposed by the Street Commissioner for Improvement in 1941 be apgnra'ved ty Council and that the Street - Department be authorized to purchase the necessar~r oil required for the application of a seal coat on the improved section of East Pottery Street which motion. upon-vote was unanimously carried.
