Absent:-- Tdone D,linutes of the -last regular- meeting held on "June 10th were ~theri read by the Clerk and there being no correctionsi:or omi°ssionswere a.pprdved as read. This, being the-time and place fixed for he-opening of bids received for furnishng•to the City of Elsinore, .160 tons more or 'less-of SC-2'Road Oil, The Clerk reported that t!rao,-bids were received arid: proceeded to' open'the folla<,ving bids: llZorgan Bros.'bid'to furni-sh dPelivered-and spread 160 tons of SC-2 3oad Oil at $1.04 per bbl.= or :~6`.3~, per ton, -'California S~les• Tax aflc~ed ~ ' Gilmore Oil Company bid to furnish delivered and spread 1b0 tons_:of SC-2 lioad'Oil at ~6.50'per-.ton, California sales tax .added. .,,, ; .. . G, Gillespie, Chief Engineer of the bureau, of sanitary. engineering; Department of Public Health, addressed to J. A. Harmon, Assistant Sanitary Engineer, acknowleds- ing the receipt of samt,les of Lake Elsinore'dater submitted for tests to determine the cause ofdying,fsh and :advsing'ithat:same:vvould receive his attention. ['hereupon it was moved by Councilman Iv ills and seconded by Councilman Perret that the matter of purchasing anew typewriter be referred to Councilmen Lovejoy and Tvlacy with authority to act on the matter, which motion upon vote was carried. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Mills and seconded by Councilman IdIacy that the Clerk be directed to Toward a registered noti to the Hornesteader•s Life Association advising them of the broken glass in their sidewalk and inform them that they vaill be held liable for any damage claims that may result from this condition, which. motion upo vote vvas carried. Tizereu_pon Councilman Mills reported to Council that the threel'I~~ thrash containers furbished be the Chamber of Commerce and the Beautifi.cJ - tion'Committee have been installed and suggested that it be authorized to purchase two more of the same type of containers to be installed on the opposite side of Tvlain St. hereupon it was moved by Councilman Pacy and seconded by Councilman Perret that tine Street Commissioner be authorized to purchase two added thrash containers to be placed on Trlain Street, vahich motion upon .vote was unanimously carried. Thereupon the City Planning Commisiion filed its final report on the application of the Townsend Hall Association, recommending that siad application to amend the zoning ordinance to provide for the re- zoning of Lots 19,201 21, & 22 in Block 3 and Lots 1g, 20, 21, & 22 in Block 4 of Lakeshore drive Addition from Zone "B" to Zone R-2 be approve . - Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Tdills and seconded b~T Councilman Perret that the Council order that~July Sth be fixed as the 'date for a public hearing on the proposed amendment of the zoning ordinance and that notice of said public hearing be given by publication as required by lava, which motion upon ',.:vote teas unanimously carried. Thereupon Resolution r~346 was introduced and read being a Resolution of the City Council providing that Resolution i~314 fixing the salaries of appointive City officers be amended to provide that the salary of the City Street Superintenda.nt be fixed at X20.00 per month to become effective July lst, 1940, "thereupon it was moored by Councilman Mills abd seconded by Councilman Racy that Resolution }~3Lr6 be passed and adopted as read vvhieh motion.vaas carried by the following vote: Ayes:-- Councilmen:-- Lovejoy, 1~1acy, Perret, T~4ills and P;fatic~t.
