Thereupon the ~"dater and License Clerk's monthly report yras pre-
. sen.ted to Council, submitting a statement of'collections for the month of

Thereupon the `.Treasurer's and Clerk's monthly reports were pre-
sented: to Council, ::subject to certairi'correetions in the ireasurer',s report

4'Jn:ereupon the Clerk presented to Council a-statement-submitted by .
the State Division of Eiighways, sb.owing the April 194.0 quarterly pa,rment of
the ,'-, cent gas tax allocated for expenditure upon Streets of Il4ajoy Importance,
the amount allocated to the City of Elsinore being ~3C9.84..
:"niereupon it was duly moved and carried that said report be received
and ordered placed on file.
Thereupon the Clerk reported to Council that he was requested .by
the ?plater and License Clerk to call to ••^,ouncils attention that tine old e etric
fan used in the office is out of order and beyond repair and request that
Council authorize that a new fa.n be purchased for use in the City Clerk :and
Water and License Clerk's office.
Upon Councils consideration of the matter it eras agreed that it
may be advisable and possiTaly more satisfactory to first investigate if it
would not be more desirable to install some sort of ventilating and cooling
system in said office.
4'Ihereupon it was moved bar Councilman I!Iills and seconded by Council-
; man Macy that the matter of providing some sort of cooling system for the
Clerk and 'hater Clerk's office be referred to Councilman Lovejoy, with authority
to act on the matter which motion was carried by the following vote:

Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council a communication addressed
to Councilman Lovejoy by Ferbert C. Legg, Administrator for the ?Work Projects
Adm>_nistration, Southern California relative to the requirements of the City
for the .planning of a construction program under the ?Mork Project s_,Administration,_„_

of Commerce, :appeared. before :Council 'and reported than the Chamber

wheih;theY are ;contributing to ahe City and°'requested that Cotzricl plat
and anchor same.

anchoring these containers be referred to Coazncilman'ieTills'the Street
Commissioner.
Thereupon; Councilman P~"ills, Street-Commissioner presented to
Council a cormunication from r, ~. Sullivan, District EnrS;ineer State
Division of Highways, adirisinC-_-_ that the plans, specifications and
estimate of-.cost for 'thee: imbs~ovement of Uari'ou streets`of majov irrinor-
ance' in thec City ,of Elsinore;: have been approved 'and authoritjT' has
treen;.ssued f,or the:: .City ao proceed with the+rrork bj day labor. '
3Nh.ereupon it was l~o$:ed by Councilman TJills and seconded by`
Councilman Perret that the City Clerk be directed to advertise for bids
,;,,tofurnish:the Qty_with 160 tons, 'more or less-of SC>2='li-quid asphati
road oil to be delivered-and spread as called for same to'meet State
standard specifications, bids to be received up to x:30 P.Tt4. of Monday
-.June 24th,',19y0, all bidscto be'accompanied by a certified check in the
