was held on the ^bove date. TY~e meeting m~as called t~o order at the
hour of x:30 P rS. with P:Qayor. P.Tatich_ in the. chair..:
Councilmen`.-- C. A: Lovejoy, Roy Tuiacy; Henry Perret, J. L,. n7i,
and N. Puatich, answerea the roll ca_11. Absent':'-- None

then read by the Clerk and- there being-ho ,corrections or omissions were
approved as read.
Thereupon a communication from .the Dlational Resources Planning
Board was presented to Council requesting. that the enclosed questior~nai~
'covering a sizr~ey of 1o~al planning be filled out:and returned to them
for use in their Circular shovring the status of City a.xid County.plannn~
-;~ throughout the United States..
` ~,'Jhereupon it was moved by Councilman Perret and seconded by
Councilman P.4acy that the Clerk be directed to complete said-questionnaix
to the' best of 'his ability-and return same to the ^datio?ial Resources
'Planning Board, vahch motion upon vote was carried, ,
Thereupon a communication from pity Attorney Best was pre-
'sented to Council in which`he reported t2iat he has collected the court
bill from the Tem_escal ~'7ater Qo, in the amount of ~~461.40 and enclosed
therewith their check for said amount made payable to the City of
Elsinore.
PVhereupon it was moved.by Councilman Pr ills and seconded by
Gouncilrnan Perret that said letter be received and filed and check...
accepted and deposited. to the credit of the general fund which motion
..upon vote was unanimously carried.
Thereupon a communication from City,_Attor'ney Best vaas,present-
ed to Council in which he advised Council relatior to their authority
to se1T vrater to serbe property outside the City limits and upon Council
consideration of tPie matter it_yvas duly mooed and_¢arried-.that said
Ietter be 'received and filed for ;future consideration.
Thereupon .Resolution #343 was introduced ..and read-being a
resolution of the iity Council accepting a deed, executed by C, R,. Stibb~
` County ,Tax Colaector, dated P;.""arch 12,.1940, granting to the City of
' Elsinore, a municipal corporation; the foTlovring described real propert;
Lot s. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8,"10, 12; 14. 16, 18,-
21, 22, and 23, in Block ~6 of Elsinore.

'` Thereupon the Clerk presented to Couricil a communication from
,E. Q.",Sullivan, District Engineer Division of State IIigYiivays,,wth which
he submitted a copy of letter from the Ilead-quarters office in Sacramento
advising that the streets recently submitted by the CitzT for inclusion in
the system of streets of Ivlajor Ir~xportance have been approved as Streets of
Lti~'ajor Importance.
C7hereupon i`t was moved by Councilman P,~ills 'arid seconded by Counri.l-
man Perret that said communications be received and filed, which mgtion'upoh
vote vacs carried.
..Thereupon AI`emorandum o£ Agreement,. submitted by the State Division
of Highways.,` providing for',pronosed expenditure of one-quarter cent.. gasoline
tax `funds-'for Streets of P~".ajor Importance vrhich vvill accrue to the City
during the fiscal ,year ending June 30th, 1940, eras presented to Council for
.consideration.
' ?"Thereupon Resolution:r~344 was intorduced ,and read being a Resolution
of the City Council of the City_of E1 inore adopting Budget and approving
``Memorandum of Agreement for expenditure of w cent.Gas Tax allocated for
Streets of Pi?ajor Importance and authorizing that the i+iayor acid Clerk be
directed to sign the same for and on. behalf of the City, of :Elsinore.

man Perret that Resolution /344 be 'passed and adopted as read ,.vvixich motion

Thereupon a committee from the Veterans of Foreign '•Nars appeared
before Council and reported that it is their. plan .to hold a-celebration on ~l`ay
30th ,.'Decoration Day and requested that they .be granted the use,: of ,the City
Park and the. old Ba11 Park, for 'this occasion.
?^lhereupon it was moved by Councilman P:lills acid seconded by 'Councilman
ILTacy that the V.F.t'1._ be granted the use o~ .the .City Park and the old Ball Park
"''on Decoration Day `and that it be authorized",to Contribute '10.00 to said organiza-
tion.`to help defray ,the .expenses, tivhich motion, eras .carried by-the following vote:

Councilman Lovejoy then reported to Council that he has conferred vrith
officials.of the S1R.A: relatior to. the proposed sewer project 'and that"he was
informed-that no men would be available for this-work until after Apr-l 1, 1940.
Whereupon it vaas agreed by Council that. further consideration of the
~ project be taken at the proper time.
Bills in the amount of °1406.81 as audited oy the, auditing committee,
were then presented to CoundiT and on motion duly made and on call vote 'carried
were''ordered paid-and the Clerk was irxstructed to issue warrants in payment of
