Tt was agreed ;,that re.servation-be.made;f.or four from Elsinore, and the Clerk was directed to return 'the card promptly. Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council the ~+mitten application ~f W.H.P.4eyer for the position of City Policeman and the-written appli- cation of David Ayres for the positions of Chief of Folce and Fire Chief.' Yhereupon it was moved by Councilman Dills and seconded by , Councilman Perret that said,appli,cations.,be ref erred, to the Police and Fire Commissioners fo_r their consideration, vahch.motion upon voce was care-ied . _ ~~ Thereupon it was reported"to Council that no other kids have been received on tires and tubes for the City Fire Truck, ,„ ,_,, ,, , ~ ,. iVuereupoTi~it was moved by~Council~an ~il1s-and-seconded by Counc.i~l- ruan Lovejoy, that an order be-placed for ,.tires .and tubes for,the City Fire Truck with the Union Oil Company, as per bid submitted by them, which motion upon vote waa,unanmously carried. -. thereupon Councilman Lovejoy, City Hall Commiss;ioner,;reported ,t o; Council that he has inspected the desks and filing equipment owned by Jim Cox,.,former Chief of .Police, and-used by the Police Dept., and .that it is his opinion ,that said,..equipment is well.•worth the sum'of.~2~,.C0 .• ana suggested that the City purchase same for-use-of Police.Dept..,; ` Whereupon it yeas moved by Qounclman Paills ands eeonded by:-,, Councilman Perret that it be authorized to purchase the desks and filing equipment from Jim Cox for the sum of r25.00rwhieh mo ion upon,vobe was carried. 1VrzrTUrE z~ECO~D of REGUI;_AR ADJOURNED Il~IEETING OF 7'HL CITY COUTdCIL.
