The meeting was called to order at the hour' of . 7;30 P.1~~. with Ivayor I~Aticr.- hrthe :ch'air::: _' Councilmen C.A. Lovejoy, Carl Peterson,:Henry-Perret, J'.E.P+iills and N.I~~tatich, answered the roll call. Thereupon Councilman Peterson<reported -to Council ti=at certain desks and filing cabinets used by the City Police Department are the-property of former:Chief'::of Police,Cox;;and that he has offered to sell a11•:this equipment to=a .the; City f.or;thesum of X2:5.00 and he further reported that he is of the opinion that said equipment is wel`1 worth the money::.asked`.for it::.and that he Police.:Department "can=make good use-of said. equipment. •' , ~ rr ,r „ :-thereupon it eras agreed by Couneil that the matter be referred to. It was agreed by Couneil to receive the bid on Tires from ahe ".. Union Oil Company, and file same for further consideration at the n'ext`:meetang of=Council. Thereupon a communication from Bobby Collina.;;and Frances Ziyad; was presented to .Council in which they requested that Council take neces ary :action to. amend the; City ;Ordinance sor~that they; may ride their horses tc tovm and tether:ithem in. somexrcon_venent. place during., ` the time they are at work in the VV.P.A. sewing room. ~, _ ~', Upon Councils consideration of -the.matt.er it was questionable. as to the provisions of the ordinance and it was agreed that the wetter be ref erred:: to thec°City;: Attorney., for, his. opinion. ; . Thereupon a communication from'Raymond A. Holton. was present,ed;;:, to Council in which. he advised ;that;aecordng to the-will_of ,Haskell=- ,:, A. OFF. 6TANDARD MINVTE RECORD I collection of minerals and relics to the Church of Christ of Elsinore 'i and that it was his expressed desire that-the Church find some suit- e able place to display his mineral collection so that it may be en- joyed and appreciated by his friends and the public, and that he could think of no better place than the City Library of Elsinore for the display of this fine collection, and if the City is interested and agreeable to his proposal to kindly let him know. ' 'whereupon it was agreed by Counei,lman P:7ills with the suggestion that he contact N?r. Arthur Bodine; one of the Church Trustees, and ascertain from him if possible,'the attitude of the Church Trustees on the matter before replying to P,ir. Holton letter. Thereupon Grdinance j~250 was .presented to Council on first reading being an ordinance relating to restricted lighting, as per Public Proclomation ~10 as amended by Public Proelomation {~12, ussued under executive order by J.L: Dewitt, Lieutenant General, U.S.Army, Commanding F^lestern Defense Corunand and Fourth Army. 4~Jhereupon it was moved by Councilman Ferret and seconded by Councilman Lovejoy that Ordinance X250 be passed to itts second reading, ~+rhich motion was carried by the following vote:- Ayes: Councilmen: C.A.Lovejoy, Henry Ferret, J.E.Mi11s, and N. Pdatich. i Noes: None. Absent: None. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Mills and, seconded by Councilman Ferret.that the sum of X2000,00 be authorized trans- ferred from the Irlater Fund to the General ~und, which motion upon vote was unanimously carried. ~ Bills in the amount of ~26~.~,3'7 as audited by the auditing committee were then presented to Council and on motion duly made and carried were ordered paid and the Clerk was instructed to issue warrants in payment of same, Thereupon there being no further business to come before Council on motion duly made and carried, Council adjourned to meet in regular adjourned session on Monday October lgth, at the hour of '7:30 P141, in the City Hall, the usual meeting place.
