Absent:-= Councilman:-= Henry Perret Painutes of the"last regular meeting of Council h"eld on August 10th were then read~by the Clerk and there being no corrections or omissions were approved.as read. Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council-.a statement submitted by the Temescal tVater Company, covering their slater withdrawals during the months-of Jizne,.and ~u y,. 1942 from-their Railroad Canyon Reservoir.. '~'lhereupon it was moved by Councilman P:Yills and seconded by Councilman"Peterson .that said report from the Temescal:!v""titer Company be received and ordered .placed on file, which motion .: . upon vote was carried. - ..Thereupon the,monthly,report submitted-,by Chief of Police dames Cox, was"pres.ented to Council reporting arrests made during the"month of July as follows:-- Traffie Violations - 19 .. Violation City Ordinance JfSp 1 L?1}iereupon it was duly, moved and carried that the report of the Chief of Police be accepted and ordered placed on file. Thereupon a communication from N?rs. Arthur Harrington, Corresponding Secretary of the Elsinore Saomans Qlub was presented to Council in vahich reported"that the vacant lot adjoining their Club House was covered with-a.heavy growth of dry weeds,:oausing a fire hazard to their property and requested that.,Counel take some action on the matter, 's~l~ereupon it was moved by Councilman _siills and.-seconded by .Councilman Lovejoy that this;::matter.be referred to the Fire & Police Commissioner for his attention,,vrhich motion upon vote,vzas carried. Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council the"written application of the Glendellas Harmonizers Orchestra for a special permit to hold a.dance on Sunday September 6th, at ..the Townsend Club :Hall. ~7Piereupon it was moved by Councilman Peterson and seconded- ~- ,: by Councilman Lovejoy"that the request, for :a special permit to hold ;a.danee on .Sunday September 6th-be denied,.and that-.the Clerk be- instructed to notify said Crchestra of the actiosi taken ,by Council on said matter, which motion upon vote vacs carried.
