Councilmen:C.A. Lovejoy, Leslie I45errifield, Henry Perret, J.E. Tills and Pv, Matich answered the roll call. Absent: None Ttiinutes of the last regular meeting of Council held on the 11th dap of October were then read by the clerk and there being no corrections or omissions vaere approved as read. Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council, notice received from the State Board of Equalization that application for transfer of Beer and ;'line Off Sale License from O.H. Tappan to A.S. Burnham at 105 No; Main St. has been filed. Vhereupon it vaas duly moved .and carried that said notice be received and filed whereupon co~~y of Eesolution passed by the County Board of Supervision .was presented to Council, said resolution authorizing the sale of certain tax delinquent lands. EThereupon it was moved by Councilman Rerrifield and seconded by Councilman Perret that said copy of Resolution be received.-and ordered placed on file, which motion upon vote was carried. Thereupon communication from P.4°a. Soper, Pdayor of the City of Chino eras presented to Council advising that the next meeting of the Citrus Belt Division of the League of California Cities vai11 be held in Chino on the 29th day of October 1943 at ~:00 o'clock P.P~7. and requested that enclosed reservation card be returned zvi.thout delay. It vaas agreed by Council that card be returned requesting three reservations for Elsinore. ^lhereupon a communication from t;'?.D. Blake vaas presented to Council in vahich he reported that on October 16th he had a bad fall at the S.E, corner of T;iain and Grahar'i Sts due to the slippery condition of the incline at this point, causing injury to his wrist and damage to his clothes. TVhereupon it was moves by Councilman Lovejoy and seconded by Councilman I`i11s that said co~;~unication be referred to G.R. Gough agent of Insurance Co. carrying the City's Public Liability coverage. r':"nic'n motion upon vote «7as carried. Thereupon reports received from t:ae Temescal ;9ater Co. were presented to Council, covering their taater :rithdrawals from Railroad Canyon Reservoir during September 1943 and their detailed annual report covering the reriod from Cct.lst,1942 to Oct.lst.,1943. ,, i REGULf~. P:~ETING 01' CITY CCT,,wCIL October.,25th,lgt~3- Thereupon it ?•aas move3 by Councilman Ferret anti seconded by councilman ' Lovejoy that said re;~orts be received and ordered filed •:i~ich motion upon vote eras carried, Thereupon a communication from Ralph P, hughes,Charman of the rYiverside County Defense Council c*ras presented to Council, reporting that before State Aid for Proteeti?re Services or for Civilian Defense can be,applied <`or it ?,rill be required to set up_an Ordinance, or ' A,mendmant to the existing Ordinance creating a Defense Council along i' the lines required by the California State '.'iar Council, and to budget and appropriate funds to carry out th.e prograr_ called for and alloyed. L~lhereupon it was moved by Councilman Ferret and seconded by Council- man Merrifield that said communication be received and ordered placed on file for future consideration, which motion upon vote ?~~as carried. - 1 Thereu_on a corununication from fi.I3.Beach was presented to Council in vahich he informed Council that the 'dater Clerks Bond will expire on D?ov,1,1943 and Insurance Polic* . covering the Crarbage Truck on P1ov.24,1g43 on t~nich he auoted a rene?°~al premium of .~29;00'^and asked that he .be advised as to Councils ?vishes in these matters, de also sub-vested that since _^-..G.Barber is no longer e.-nloyed b•y theCit.v that his bond be canceled a.nd a new bond varitten to cover 'r_is successor. I Upon Councils consideration of these matters it aas ,moved by I Councilman tl~~ills and seconded by Councilman Lovejoy that llr. Beach be authorized to renew Bonds and insurance on Garbage Truck and also that 1~, FTarmor. Chief of Police, be bonded vrhich motion upon vote vvas carried Thereupon Couneilrlan Mii11s reported to Council that since it is required to call for bids for the repair of Pump No,2 at the City t,later Plant, it was necessary to have dra?vn spec i.-iications covering this vrork, which were then presented to Coune.il.for their adoption and approval, ?''hereupon it ?vas'ri~oi-ed by Councilman iviills and seconded by Council- man ferret that the Sbecifications covering the repair of pump;~2 be approved and adopted as read and that the City Clerk be instructed to_ J publish a notice inviting bids for ti;is ?work, to be opened and publicly declared at the next regular meeting of Council at the hour of 8:00 O~clocY> P.Tv. T~Tov.Bth 1843 vanich motion upon vote vaas unanimously carried. Bills in the amaant of X1558.90 as audeted by the auditing committee were then presented to Council and. o. motion duly made and carried ?vere ~ ordered paid and_ the Clerk wa.s instructed to issue ?:'arrants in pay~;.ent of same ^lhereupon there being no further business to cane before Council, on motion duly made and carried council adjourned to meet in regular session on Londay iVov.Bth at the hour of ~:30 P.:;!, in th City Piall the usual meeting place. - h DiTayor i :.
