It seemed like a good idea as there was not much need oY the siren being blown at those hours, if the local forest firemen could and would investigate alarms first then, if necessary, blow the sirens to call the firemen out. Mayor reports on _°.oof of City Hall. Some colm~.ents and discussions were advanced, Mayor Matich to submit estimates at next regular meeting. Howard Habenicht beir_g aresent made a very nice talk on 5th Victory Bonds and Post 'ddar planning. Bili.y Beach had a few v=ords to say on the same subject. The newly born Chamber of Cor~aeree had a member present--Sandy E ham. The other talks and business being quite thoroughly gone over b he was called on he had already gained most of the information he was seeking so his talk was brief. Ernest Johnson and also Johnnie Mills talked on the same subject, that being the City should purchase some pipe to be carried as stock. Trousite, and east iron were the two leading factors, and trousite pre- ferable, as that type of piping seems to stand up better with, much less corrosion. .There were also some talk and discussion about the purchase of Bonds, finally ending by a motion by Merrifield, seconded by t~~oods that the City Clerk be instructed to buy 1~-~1,000,00~Series G-Bonds. 1!unds to come from the LNater Dept, Motion voted on: Mayor Matich, Councilmen Merrifield, Cooper, ;'floods, and Goodcase, Yes. Noes- None. ~4otion oarried unanimously. Bi11s presented and inspected. Motion by Merrifield, seconded by °dcods that Bills be allovaed and Clerk instructed to draw vrarrants for same. Cooper reported the transformer has been installed at Ball Park and ready for operation. Thera being no further business to come before the Council and the hour getting late, a motion teas made by ti'doods, seconded by Cooper that the Council adjourn until next regular meeting night, Monday, June 26th, 1g1~4.
