A regular meeting o:P the CitzT Council of the City of Elsinore was
held on the abo°~e date. The meeting-was called to order at the hour

Councilmen: Leslie Tvierrifield, Henry Perret, J.E. Mills and N.

Absent: Councilman: Lovejoy

Thereupon the Cit,T Clerkrs monthly report vaas presented to Council
oac.ich on motion duly made and carried was accepted and ordered placed
on file. -
Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council the written resignation
of Lena Cal~ison as City V??later 2s License Clerk and City Judge.
:Thereupon it was moved b,y Counciln~_zn N1i11s and seconded by
Councilman ~=errifield that the resignation of Lena Callison be accepted
with regrets, s«r1e to become effective January 20th,1944~~which motion
upon vote was carried.
Thereupon the Clerk presented to Council ti.e written applications
of Ptiay 1'umlinsoh, Alice Scott and 1laorna Tappan for the positions of
i.later Clerk, License 41erk, anc, City Judge, and upon Councils due
consideration of s::id applications,
It was roved by Couneilm~•n T'~~i11s and seconded by Councilman Perret
gnat Z~aoma Tappan be appointed to fill the positions of ~'fater Clerl~,
License Clerk and City Judge, effective on the 29th~day of January,l9/~4.
and that she be engaged -'rpm date as assistant to iYie water clerk, lice
clerk and City Judge, up to Jan.20th at the same salary novaf fixed for

said offices vahich motion was carried by the following vote:

Absent: Councilman: Lovejoy.
Thereupon Notice received from the Selective Service Local hoard No.155
was presented to Council, advising that John L, :Sullivan a City employee has
been classif ied in Class 2-A until June 2~th,19L~4.
?;,'hereupon it was duly moved and carried the t s=.id notice be .received and
ordered placed on file.
Thereupon a cormmunication from E.C, Collatz tmas presented to Council in
which he advised thdt the a?inual meeting and election of officers of the Imperial
kighway Assn, will be held in Elsinore on the 29th day of January,191~1~ and
solicited Council for the usual ^10.00 contribution to help defray the cost
of advertising said n.eeti_ng.
~7hereupon it eras moved by Councilman ~r~i11s and seconded by Councilman
PJlerrifie~d that the sum of ;'>10.00 be authorized paid for advertising the
meeting of the Imperiallfighway Assn. to be held in ~'lsinore upon the
presentation of a proper bill, which motion upon vote vvas carried.

~Phere upon the ~Preasurerts monthly report, just submitted yeas uresented
to Ceuneil, which' on motion° dul~T made and carried was accepted and ordered
placed on file.
Thereupon bulletin wo. lg-A submitted by ~iichard Graves, State Director
of Civilian Defense vaas presented to Council and on motion duly made and
carried vans ordered received ar~d placed on file.
";7~ereupon it v,*as moved by Councilman ';~i11s and seconded by Councilman
Lovejoy that Couneihr_~an Henry Ferret be appointed to serve and be designated
as the personnel officer of the Dlsinore Defense -:``ar Council, which motion
upon vote vaas ur~nimously carried.
Bills in the amo nt of `,i15o~..12 as audited by the auditing committee vrere
then presented to Council and on rmotio_r_ duly made and carried vaere ordered
paid and the Clerk was instructed to issue vrarrants in payment of same.
Thereupon there being no further business to cone before Council on motion
duly made and carried Council adjourned to meet in regular session cn Ssonday
January 2L~th at the .our of 7:30 P.It;. in the City Ha11 the usual meeting place.
