The meeting was called to crder at the hour of ~:~0 P.R+i, with Mayor Matich in the chair. Councilmen: Leslie Merrifield, Vernon James and Mayor Ivlatich answer roll call. >COUncilmah Clyde Longe absent. The minutes of the last meeting were ordered omm~tted by Mayor Matich. Whereupon it was moved by councilman James, second by council- man ~1errifield, that Mr. J. A. Tarpley be appointed to fill the unex- pired term of councilman -0has.=Daubehberger, which motion was carried_ by the following vote: Councilman Merrifield yes Noes none. .; " James `yes. Abseht: councilman Longe n!layor iViatich yes.: -Thereupon Mr. J. A. Tarpley accepted appointment~'and was sworn in by Mayor Matich. Whereupoh it was moved by councilman Merrifield, second by councilman James that City Clerks and Gity Treasurer be accepted as examined by auditing committee and filed, which motion upon vote was carried. Whereupon it was moved by councilman'Merrfield, second by councilman James that City Glater and License clerks. report be accepted as read-and ;filed.' Which motion upon vote was carried. Whereupon it was moved.-by councilman Merrifield, second by councilman Tarpley that the bills be allowed as audited by auditing committee°:and clerk-issue warrents for same. UlYiich motion upon vote was carried. ~. t Calendar No. 1 This being the tine and place for the public hearing on the proposed rezoning of the Westerly 54 feet of Lot 5, Block 18, of the City of Elsinore, the City Clerk reported that Notice of said hearing had been published in the.Elsinore Leader-Press on December 20th, 1945. l __ ' All $hose present in favor of and against the proposed rezoning were heard by the Council. thereupon it was moved by 'councilman Merrifield, seconded by ouncilman tamest that all protests and objections thereto be overruled, nd that the public interest required the rezoning of said property as pplied for, and that the petition for rezoning be granted. ~"Jhich motion as carried by the following vote:. " Tarpley yes- Mayor NTatich yes Calendar No. 2 ' This being the time. and place for-the public hearing on the proposed rezoning of the Northerly rectangular 180 feet of Blocks 57 to 63, both inclusive,. and the Southerly 1.55 feet of Blocks 75 to 81, both inclusive, of the City of Elsinore, the City Clerk reported that Notice of said hearing had been published in the Elsinore Leader-Press on December 20th, 1945.:..
