A regular meeting of the city Council of the city of Elsinore
was held on the above date. The meeting was called to order at the hour
of '~:00 P.M. with Mayor Matioh in the chair.

Councilmen: Leslie Merrifield, Clyde Longe, Vernon James and
Mayor N. Matich answered the roll call. Councilman Chas. Daubenberger
absent. ,
Minutes of.the last„regular meeting,of thecCouneil,held on
Nov. 13, were then read by the clerk, and approved as corrected.
' Thereupon a letter was read from a Mx.-Knapp,attorney,for the
Lake Elsinore Transit Co. regarding a loading zone for the bus: -It-was
moved by Councilman. James,: seconded by Councilman Longe,that this matter
be held over until Mr. DeWolfe, operator of Lake Elsinore Transit Co.,
_ was present,,, iNhich.,motion upon,,,vote was carried. ,
Thereupon a letter in the form of a petition signed by ,all the
business men of Elsinore was read. TYiey asking the City Council to take
up the mattez of sweeping the streets of the city-and keeping them clean
at all times. Mayor Matich turns this.,over to councilman. Merrifield-to
plan some way of taking care of it.
At this time-the spokesman for- the businessmen beiag present,
Mayor Matich calls on him to state just what they wanted. Mr. Wills
takes the"floor and explains about the street sweeping, which had been
taken care of. Next about a parking limit,, saying that a good many of
.the people vaorking in townleft their cars parked all day o{~ main Street
so as the customers could not Pind a place to-park. He.als;o asks. per-
'mission to put up Christmas lights on the streets betvreen light stand-
_ards and a Christmas tre,e,in the city;park.
Whereupon it was moved bg Councilman Longe, seconded by,Counci:
man Merrifield that the business men be granted aermission to string
lights between light st~:ndards, also to put up tree in city park,
Councilman James to help get the tree. State highway to be contacted
before lights were put up. Tf~ich motion was carried upon vote.
Thereupon a letter read from the City fire department, signed
-- by Fire-Chief Ernest Johnson and four of the members, sta-ting that the
present fire truck was in bad shape and was not to be depended on to get
to fires and to put them out on arrival. Asking that a nevr truck and
eouipment be purchased as soon as it was available.
',~~erepuon it was moved by councilman Longe, second by council-
- man James that this be turned over to councilman Daubenberger, Fire
Commissioner. He is to find our regarding prices and delivery and report
back to Council. nick motion was carried upon vote.
Report of planning coni~:nission read by clerk recolnmending the
rezoning of the u~'esterly 54 feet of lot 5 in block 18 of the town of
1lsinore, by placing the same in a "C" zone, together with a request for
an order fixing the time for hearing before the planning commission and
specifying the notice to be given thereof, was recaived.
At this time Councilman PJlerrifield vvas taken ill and had to be
taken home in the eol.ice car.
Whereupon it was moved by counoilrnan James seconded by councilman
.Longe that the time for hearing said matter be set ^r or TMonday, December 10,
1945, at the hour of 7.3 ' that notice of-,said hearing
be-given by posting'the oamecincthe~'Tfr'ontnwindovv of the'Gity-Ball in the
=City of Elsinore,` st 'least one week before the date of 'said hearing. ~iVYiieh

Whereupon it tivas moved by councilman James,'seconded by'council-
man Longe that,the time for hearing said matter be set for :Monday, December
'10,'1945, at the hour'of 7:30''P.M~ and that notice of'said'hearing be given
by posting the same in the front window of the City .Iall`in the Gity`of

Whereupon it tva.s`moved by Nayor TMatich seconded by`bouncilman
Longe that bills be allowwed as audited by 'auditing committee and clerk be
authorized to issue warrants for same, w.~ich motion ,vas carried by vote.
Whereupon it was moved by'Councilmanf'James, second by douncl-
man Longe that meeting be adjourned, to meet a~ain.on December 10, 1945,
at the regular meeting dace.
