A regular meeting of the City Council of the City oP the
- -City of Elsinore was held. oh the above date. with' Mayor IrHatich
' calling the meeting to order, at the 'hour° oP 7; 30` PM.
Councilmen Merrifield,., Longe, James, Goodcase andMayor
Matich answered 'the roll call:

`. There were 'a few visitors'preseht of which Mrs. Mona Leese
was called on first. She was very much interested. in getting
the streets in~her end of towxi'improved as she has a rest home
` and thinks 'they need immediate attention in order, to get`in and
out of her"place: `In rainy weather the streets,are"almost impassable.
She was informed by the Council that°Counciameri Merrifield, James
.and Iviayor Matich vrill make the inspection Sunday at 10 AM .and will
try to work out something. '
Then Johnny Allen was called upon and he asked the possibility
of erecting a portable sandwich and cold drink stand at the Ball
Park; all proceeds to be diverted or turned over to the Summer
Recreation Fund. A motion was made by Longe and seconded by
Goodcase that the Recreation Program be granted a license without
cost to operated a concession at the Ball Park as long as same is
carried on in a sanitary condition and passes-food--recommendations..
'. __The:motion carried and so ordered.
Mr. xenneth Sutherland was seeking information on amount the
City can donate for the advertising of Elsinore Valley. Mayor
Matich suggested 50.00 be used to start with and Advertising Fund
be checked and if more is available then perhaps more coudd be
donated.
Dr. Miller of the County Health Departmeht mad e quite a report
on rabies and also suggested several precautions on the control oY
rabies. He also suggests a man be employed subject to 21+ hour day
call duty but only work 44 hours per week but to vaork different
hours on different days so no one will know just when he will be on
duty. He also stated Housigg condition in some parts of town are
bad, in fact, he cited one group that was deplorable and with the
City's sanction he will take immediate action. Dr. Miller was given
a verbal OR to proceed..
Police Chief Harmon reports the Police C. R. Parlier had turned
in his resignation effective June 30th. Motion by James and
seconded by Goodcase that the resignation oP C, R. Parlier be
accepted with regrets and Chief Harmon be given authority to appoint
a new Policeman to replace the retiring Parlier. 2,uotion carried and.
so ordered.
Bills were read, inspected and audited by the auditing committee.
Motion bra Merrifield and seconded by Goodcase that bills as
audited by the auditing Committee be allowed and the Clerk be
instructed, to draw warrants on the same. ~ttotion,carr-ied and so ordered.
Resolution or Agreement pertaining to ~'olice Radio be accepted and Mayor and Clerk be
instructed to sign same.
Motion by Goodease„seconded ~y Longe, that lease for City property located on Lakeshore
DriBe in favor of ~Ir..ehudleigh be signed and 250.OO,be collected in advance and lease
delivered. Motion carried and so ordered. `
The question of Soiah Foe Stree$ from Lakeshore Drive to water was discussed pertain- _
ing to placing decomposed granite on surface also price submitted by Dean Fletcher.
,The Conneil,,as a whole thought Fletcher's price was too high. Motion by Goodease and
`:,seconded by Longe that_Commissioners Merrifield -and James contact Fletcher as to price
and amopxit of granite.

from second to fourth '~~tednesdays to second as~3 fourth '`~onday nights. This being the
second reading. A motifin by ~7errifield and seconddd by Goodease that Ordinance no. 259
be adopted-sand the`Clerk cause.: same to be published in the Elsinore deader Press.

` There being no further business to-come before the meeting a motion was made by Goodease
and seconded by James that we adjourn to our next regular meeting night, July 11, 1945•
