A regular meeting of the City Council of he City of"Elsinore
,was held_on the°above date. With acting Mayor Goodease in the chair..
"' `The meeting was called to order at the hour of 7;J0 F. M•

Councilmen Longe, James, and Goodease answered the roll call
absent 'two Mayor Matich, and Councilman Merrifield
Minutes of the last regular meeting was .read; ,.there being no alter-
ations or corrections tYe minutes were approved as-read.
Aa'the present 'reading the City Clerk had- no minutes of the last
'' regular adjourned meeting,, but understood Mr. Clay''Scott took the
minutes of th'e evaning, and Clerk was instructed to'contact Scotty.
° ' ' W.`W. H.''Beach'was present,-:and reports on State Compensation
Insurence , and finds~to his interpertation°everything is OK.~
'° ' `' and also Firemen are not required .to have'Chauffer License'to operate
Fire Trucks,` And'insurenes policy covering Police Car will carry
a different rate of~insurence now that it is`equipped with a two-way
Police Radio, and the difference will be ~ 4..76'~!for the remainder
of the year r °
Motion by Longe sec by James Council would accept the difference
° in insurence, and Clerk instructed to draw warrant for ~ 4..76
to Dover same. Motion carried' and so ordered.
The resignation of Homer 1Yessner was read pertaining to his resigna
'of the Police Force.
Motion by James sec-by Longe that tWessners resignation be accepted
withregrets. Motion carried and so ordered..
Police Chief'Harmon presented a Mr Stokes who has made aplication
'to fill the'vaceney on the Police Force caused by tYie resignation of
iv1r. Wiesner. The •motion-mad'e by James 'Sec by'LOnge -carried and so ordere
also .gave Chief Harmon authority to use his own discEeetion in hiring
` a new Policeman..; ..
There was some discussion as to Police Redclight to be installed
atop Flagstaff Eiill, and Police curfew signal be attached to same.
Motion by James see by Longe that Chief Harmon be instructed to
proceed as per discussed by Chief Harmon, and Councilman James.
Motion carried and so ordered.
Harvey Pratt of the Sheriff's Office was presented by Chief Harmon
who in turn presented a contract pertaining to the two-way Police Radio
-- As the Mayor, and one Councilman was absent ..The three. members
present did not want to take the responsibility°upon themselves to sign
the Contract a motion was entertained by Jamen sea by Longe that
Gontraet be filed to our next regular meeting June 27th. 1945
Motion carried, and so ordered.
Mr Harvey Holman oP the She11 Oil Co. was present and presented
a Mr Flavin Madariago, and Mr Bogan of which-both are interested in
establishing, and operating a local Air Port, and would like very
much to work in con~unetion with the City of Elsinore.
They have a lease, and option to buy a strip the location known
as Beverly Acres. They left .a map showing the location of Strip
U.
in mind , and iP not suitable to the City another location could be agreed upon.
The Council informed them that they would look into the matter , and have some information soon
Mr Earl Leo Beavers was present , and offered the use of his boat known as the Thunder Bolt
to be used as a Rescue Boat without any obligations whatsoever. Mr Beavers holds a City
License to operate s boat landing ,or Pear and also. to run.an Excursion boat , and possibly
a Water Taxi. across ,the Lake"at regular,intervals.-
Motion by Longe s,ee by dames that Mr Beavers proposition be accepted.
Motion carried, and so ordered.
A eommueation was~read from some local residents a Mrs.,Geo A,Heckman, Mrs Kathryn Edwards,
Mrs. Robert S. Leighton and Mrs: Richard Miller. pertaining to am abanded well near Acacia St
in Cleveland Heights Un>_t,~2 , and ..was considered quite, a hazard as there seven children in the
neighborhood under '5 years oP age, and.was causing "the Mothers quite a Worry. And would Por the
City to have the.well covered or given other proper protection.
Motion by James,se,e by Longe that Mr.J.ohnson be notified to contact Bbr James for part of
the; materials, and balance would have to be bought"to..eover said well in questio, and also.
,erect a;Yenee:a Penee,.around. same.`.: motion carried and so .ordered.
City Ard. # 259 was read pertaining to the-ehangin~ Council meetings Prom the 2nd. & 4th.
Wed. nights to the 2nd. Fc 4tl. Monday nights.
Motion ,by Longe sec by James" that Ord. ~ 259 be signed bg City Mayor, and Gity Clerk
and .cause same to"be published in ,the Elsinore Leader Press.
Motion carried and so ordered:.
Commutation was read from the GaliP. Elec. Power Co. containing a cheek Per ~ 200.88
to cover".their Franchise for the Calendar Year 1944.;,
Motion by Longe see by dames that check be accepted and ,be deposited to the General Fund.
Motion carried, and so ordered;.

There being no further business to come beforebtlie Council a Motion was entertained
by James sec by Longe that meeting be adjourned to our next regular meeting night
