June - Is 46 ~ A regular meeting oP the City Council 0f the City,of_Elsinore was held on the above date. ,The meeting yeas called to order e the hour of 7~"30"P. ~. with Mayor:-Tarpley in the chair. Councilmen: Leslie Merrifield, John A11en, Robert Goodwin, N. Matich and Mayor Tarpley"answer roll call. Thereupon the c~.erk read the Minutes ®f the June loth.meeting and there"bsing.;~ao errors.®r corrections were approved as read, ,,,, -This. being the time and place for,the public hearing on the pro- posed rezoning of lots '7,9,11, and 13, in block 14 0~ the hewn ta~f Elsinor®, the City .Clerk reported that notice .of said 2eeq~;ing had been published in the Elsinore Leader Press, on June,20,;1.946. _. ° All those present, in favor of and against the proposed rezoning, were heard by.,the. Council.. , Whereupon it was moved~by Councilman Me.rri~ield second by Couneil- man Goodwin that the. proposed rezoning oP lots,7,9,11, and 13 in,,-block 14 be tabled Por,Purther consideration which motion was .carried by ; the following vote."`: Councilman ~' Merrifield.": Yes" " " A11en Yes " " Goodwin: Yes ~: „ Matich Yes Mayor Tarpley, N© absent none. Mayor`Tarpley at this time calls on those present to state there problems. Mrs. Stan Ward asks Por help to keep Prospeot'Street clean, as water from higher up was bringing dirt down. This turned over to -John Allen Street 'C©mmissioner.' Dr. Rydan askes for support in regards to a proposed hospital to be built in the Perris..Valley,.thinks,Elsinore.shuuld go in with them an the project as was already started and the two.plaees could-.not e support a"hospital in each`'plaoe A Mr. Simms explained different. ways oP raising funds Por a"hospital. Whereupon it was moved by Councilmen Merrifield second by Coun~il- man Goodwin that Allen. 0. Smith be authorized to proceed with the audit of the Git, books, records and accounts, also to prepare. the annual report to the State Controllers ®ffice for the Piseal year of 1945-46, which motion upon vote was carried. 4'Vhereupon it was moved by Councilman Goodwin second by Councilman Merrifield that H. ~. Scoot be appointed to fill the unexpired term of A. E. Gustafson as City Treasurer. Which motion was carried by the following vote. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Merrifield second'by Council- man Goodwin that bills-be allowed``as audited by auditing committee and clerk issue warrants for same. Which motion. upon vote was carried. Thereupon the clerk read protests fr..®m ~~~veral water useree asking. that the discount be left as it, was. - Whereupon'it was moved by Counclman'MerriYelc~,segond by Council- man Goodwin that' clerk be instructed' to advertiz®° t~~t the Elsinore` Leader Press for bids for the. purchase of a new ear for the Police Dept. Bids to be opened at the regular meeting. July. 8,1946 at '730 P. t1. which motion upon vote was carried. Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Goodwin second by Councilman Matich that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to contact Kilpatrick and Moulton and'if the easeing had not been ~®ught and tgey were 'willing that the contract for the drilling, of City well be canceled. Which motion upon.-vote was parried. Whereupon Mayor Tarpley appoints Councilmen-Goodwin and Allen to change ordinance No. 161 as to the best'interea$s of the City end repoht on this the .first meeting in September. _,~.
