ERVICE"1yN¢ FORM 972 NDpRO MIN UTe RECORD A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Elsinore was held on the above date. The meeting was 'called to order at the hour of 7:30 P.PIt. with IJlayor Tarpley in the chair. Councilmen: Leslie Merrifield, John A11en, Nick Matich and Mayor Tarpley answer roll call. Councilman Robert Goodwin absent. Minutes of the May 13th meeting read by the Clerk and there being no errors or omissions, they were approved as read. Thereupon resolution No. 429, having to do with setting of wages for well drilling contract ro'ras read. ti~Ihereupon it was moved by Councilman Merrifield, second by Council- man Matich that resolution No. 429 be adopted as read. 'Phis resolution setting salaries to be paid on well drillin~ job at s'D~1;~50 per hr. for Complex Equipment operator (skilled labor) w1.00.per hr. for common lab- or. idio more than eight hrs. in any one day; also time and one half for overtime. ';Vhich motion was carried by the following vote: Councilman Merrifield yes Noes, none. " Allen yes " Matich yes Absent, one. R4ayor Tarpley yes Thereupon a contract for drilling of City well was read by Council- man Merrifield, and compared with bid. ~~'tlereupon it was'~oved by Councilman Allen, second .by Councilman 1tQatich that there being some differance between bid and contract of Kilpatrick and Moulton for well drilling that bid and contract be sent to City attorney Best for some changes before being signed by City officials. titi~nieh motion was carried by the following vote. P~Iayor Tarpley yes Chief of Police Simmen being present was called on by Mayor Tarpley Chief Simruen stated that he was a committee appointed to invite the I~Hayor and City Council to take part in the American Le=ion memorial day program and parade. He also asked that•the Police department would line the use of the room jusi vacated 'oy the State Forestery for police " work. This was turned over to Councilman Matich, Po].i.ce Commissioner to take up with the fire Department. Thereupon a tentative report of the planning commission recomiaend- the rezoning of lots 7, 9, 11, and 13 in block 14 of the itorrn of Llsinor by removing the same from "R 1" zone and placing"th.e same in "R 341 zone, together ~^aith a re_uest for an order fixing the time for hearing before the Planning Corr~~ission and snecifin~; the notice to be' givCen thereof, eras received. This ordinance changing the discount on the monthly water bills from 30jo to 15~. Pdhereupon it'was moved by Councilman DTa.tich second by Councilman. It being a resolution fixing the salary of the. City Hall janitor at i=,21.00 per month and the Park custodian at pBti..OC per month, and that C1?ar]_es Funnels be employed as City Hall janitor and Park custodian. ;4~ieraupon it was moved by Councilman Ivierrifield second by Council- man A11en that resolution ?tTO. 430 be adopted as read, which motion upon vote was c~~rri,ed. ~7yriereupon-it vvas moved b,-: Councilman ivierrifield, second by Council- man Nlatieh that Street Comrriissioner Allen take care of the request of the Santa 1'e Railroad for removal of certain trees on or near their right of way. ~;;rhich motion upon vote was carried. "]hereupon it was moved by Councilman w~atich, second by Councilman Llerrifield that Checks for franchise covering 1945 from Calif. Electric Power Co, and Calif. '~7ater and Telephone ~ be accepted and Clers deposit same in general fund. "nereupon it was moved by Councilman =illen, second by gouncilman IVlatich that the Chief of Police give the Owner of the trailer parked in back of Plaza five day notice to move the trailer from that location.
