MEETING HELD ON THE 24th

i A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Elsinore. was held on the
' I above date. The meeting was called to order at the hour of 7:30 P.M. with Mayor
I Tarpley in the chair.
III Councilman John Allen, Leslie Merrifield, W.P. Smith, Fred Stokes and Mayor
i Tarpley answer roll call

Thereupon the Clerk read the minutes of the adjourned meeting. of November 17th
~j and the minutes of the special meeting of November 18th, and there being no errors or
!omissions were approved as read.
~I~ Councilman Allen, Street Commissioner reports on the P4otor Grader, stating that
~~~ there was a chance of the City getting road equipment from surplus Government property
~~ and thought it best not to go through with advertizing for bids as .was moved at the
I ~~ November meeting.

II Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Allen second by Councilman Merrifield that
III the motion of the November 17th meeting and the amendment to said motion at the spec-
ial meeting of November 18th be recinded and^declared void, and not advertize for bids
I on a motor grader at this time which motion was carried by the following vote.

I~ Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Merrifield second by Councilman Stokes
~I that Councilman Allen, street commissioner be authorized to get in contact with the
~~ war assets administration right away and find out just what equipment was .available
~, at this time that the City could purchase, mainly motor graders. Which motion was
~~ carried upon vote.
~I Mr. Harmon Maintenance Supt., at this time reported on the progress at the
~ General petroleum Cogs. well, stating that part of the pipe line to the cities Main
1, Ali had been laid, and suggested the type of pump that he thought would work best.

Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Merrifield second by Councilman Stokes
I ~. that as the lease for the above mentioned well had not been returned to the City
j action on the purchase of a pump be tabled, which motion upon vote was carried.

j i Mr. Conklin of Country Club Heights was called on at this time and he as
Ii spoksman for the residents of that part of the City asked the Council to do something
{ about the strong sulphur water they were getting since he new pipeline had been
eonnect~d.. Was informed by the Council that as soon as the Water Dept. got time and
'~ the necessary pipe to make more changes the water would have time to airiate.

(~ Mr. Butler was called on at this time and asked the Council for a permit to
operate a child ride concession. Was informed that the Council would consider and he
could get an answer on the Monday December 8th meeting.

Mr. Meyers, Building Inspector at this time asked the Council regarding number
~ of units that was allowed on t~lest Graham near Mohr St. was informed that the number
'~ request was allowed.

~Ij Mr. Tavis stated to the Council that something should be done in the way df
~~advertising as most of the courts in the city were vacant at .this time, Did not think
j;it was a good thing to build more courts at this time.

Councilman John Allen was excused from the meeting at this time 9:15 P.M.

j~ Thereupon theClerk read Ordinance No. 284 for its second reading, an Ordinance
i,~ending Ordinance No. 236 allowing retail sales in zone °R2" (Trailer Camp Zone)
ii
~~ Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Merrifield second by Councilman Stokes
~Ilthat Ordinance No. 284 be passed and adopted as read and clerk instructed to have
~~same published once in the Elsinore Leader Press, which motion was carried by the
j~~ following vote.

Mayor Tarpley reported that Mr. Lucking of the Power Co. and himself had
&g81n checked for lights on Lakeshore Drive and had found out that ten lights would be
~Clvughtfor Lakeshore, and as twelve had been ordered suggested the two left over be
installed on South Poe Street.
Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Merrifield second by Councilman Stokes
that the former motion regarding said lights on Lakeshore Drive be recinded, and
declared void, which motion upon vote was carried.
Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Merrifield second by Councilman Smith
tha t the California Power Company be instructed in install ten street lights on
Lakeshore Drive and t wo on Poe Street between Graham Ave, and Lakeshore Drive, which
motion was carried upon vote.
Whereupon kt was moved by Councilman Stokes second by Councilman Smith that
the clerk be authorized to inform Mr. Mc Kee of the Lake View Bath House property
that the side walk on his property was in a bad condition and should be repaired
right away, which motion upon vote was carried.
Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Merrifield second by Councilman Smith.
that the bills be allowed as audited by the auditing committee and clerk instructed to
issue warrants for same, which motion upon vote was carried.
II Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Stokes second by Councilman Smith that
Ilthe meeting adjourn to meet again on Monday December 8th at the regular time and place,
lwhich moti on upon vote was carried.
