DAY OF October zstr7 I i ~i A regular meeting of the pity Council of the City of Elsinore was held on the above date.The meeting was called to order at the hour of ~7:3o P.M.with Mayor Tarpley in the chair. Ilj Councilman: Leslie Ie2errifield,~;V.PSmith,Fred Stokes and Mayor J.A. jj Tarpley answer roll ca1l,Councilman John Allen Absent. Thereupon the clerk read the minutes of the October 14.th.meeting and there being no errors or ommissions were approved as read. Calendar Noll A final report on the petition of the Lutheran Church for the re- zoning of lots 17 and 19 in Block ~.7 of the Town of Elsinore,is hereby made to the City Conneil oP the City of Elsinore by the Planning Commission thereof ,recommending that the petition be granted and said erty be removed from zone "RPt and placed in a zone ttCTM and ordinance 236 be amended. aalzereupon it was moved by Councilman i~,ierrifield second by Councilman Smith-that the report of the Planning Commission be accepted and that Pnonday IVTovember the lOth1947 at 7:30 P.>tiH. be set as the date for a publi hearing before the City Council of the City of Elsinore and have notice of 'said hearing. published once in the Elsinore Leader Press,which motion was carried by-the following vote I~ Councilman Merrifield Yes " .Smith Yes Noes None Stokes Yes it ji Mayor " Tarpley Yes Absent One Thereupon the clerk read a letter from Mr t'7alser regarding the sale of 25 acers in the Northeast part of the City to the City for a Dump,Th matter refered to Street Corrunissioner A].len.Also read letter regarding the opening of North Mohr Street requested by May Go.Realestate brokers Which was also turned over to Councilman Allen. VjThereupon it was moved by Councilman Merrifield second by Councilman Smith that the,~bill of sale for the two lamp standards at the corner of Main and Peck Streets be accepted by the Council and Street Supt. Mr Harmon be insts~ueted to have them connected with the other Street lights which motion upon vote vaas carried. Thereupoh the clerk read ordinance No 2g2 for its second reading,it being an ordinance for two hour parking. ~dhereupon it was moved by Councilman Stokes second by Councilman Smith that ordinance No.282 be passed and adopted as read and.same be published once in the Elsinore Leader Press,which motion was carried by the following vote. Thereupon Councilman Merrifield read an agreement with the Dept.oP State Highways regarding the expenditure of 4 cent gasoline tax on the State controled highways through the City. thereupon it was Loved 7~y Councilman Merrifield second by Councilman Smith that resolution No.4.83 be passed and adopted authorizing the Mayor and Clerk to sign the Agreement as read,whieh motion u;~on vote was carried. Thereupon the Clerk read an agreement with the Dept.of state Hi on an amended agrrement for expenditure 4 cent Gasoline tax on S~~$e controled highways throw. the City. itVhereupon it .was moved by Councilman Merrifield second by Council Stokes that resolution No.l~.8i~ be passed and adopted authorizing the Mayor and City clerk to sign said agreement,which motion upon vote vaas carried. TnlYiereupon it was moved by Councilman MerrifielcT;second by Counci Smith that the City Clerk be authororized to contract for election su as needed for the regular election April 13,194g,which motion upon vo was carried. 'Nhereupon it was moved by Councilman Merriifield second by Council Stokes that the bills be allowed as audited by the Auditing Committee e clerk instructed to issue warrents for same,which motion upon vote was. carried.
