~II A tentative report of the Planning Commission recommending the
rezoning of lots 17 and 19 Block 47 Town of Elsinore, by removing the
I~ same Prom a 'TR1" zone and p acing same in a 'T-C":zone together with a
ii request :for an order'fixing.the.time for hearing before the Planking
I Commission and specifying the"notice to. be.giuek thereof was received.

I Thereupon the :clerk read'the following recommendations of the
I Planning Commission that more lights be=installed in the City Park, also
!; paint b:ui3dings in a aid Park 'and plant-more lawn and flouters. Make
III survey of City and install more fire hydrants.'Clerk instructed to
I~~contact Chairman Frankel and inform him that the Park Commissioner would
:;_ ~~ like ~tci: have ~Yiim go to park and- make -plans -fore said improvements.
~n ~~ Thereupon the clerk read a letter from the County health department
~~stating that there has been rabies in the City of Elsinore and suggested

l~that dogs be closely watched and-'stray cats eliminated.

'the, Council?s-permission to. employ Doyne Stokes while Officer Barber

shereupon it was moved by Councilman Merrifield, seconded by Conncilman
Smith that the Chief:_of Police be author zed o-employ~said:Doyne Stokes while

Thereupon Coune~ilman Allen, StreetCommissioner, read an agreement between
-.the Department: of. public works :and : he City of Llsnbre for; the; expenditure
of gas tax allocation for the majior.streets of ahe City, gradng:and surfacing
and upkeep.
Thereupon the clerk read, resolution PSo.82•, a resolution authorizing the
Mayor and Clerk to sign the above said afire merit.
Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Allen, seconded by Councilman Ivierrifield
that resolution No. 482 be passed and adopted as read, which motion was carried

Thereupon the clerk read-ordinance fi1o. 282 for its first. reading, an ordinance
amending ordinance No. 268 by..placi`ng two hour garkings sign on Pdai'n Street
__ betvreen Lmit;ed:and Heald ;: and between.Niain and_..Sprng on Gr:aham;between the hours
bf 8:00 A.I~/~. and 6:00 P.M.:, putting stop signs :on.Pottery:and Suinner,making Langstaff
a through street, and replacing the word Special Street Fund to Traffic Safety Fund.
Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Al1'en,;,seconded by Councilman Stokes that
Ordinance No. 282 be passed o its seco,nd:reading, which motion was carried by the

~Nhexeupon it was moved by Councilman Stokes, seconded by: Councilman Allen that
the Mayor be authorized to have the Police Department office painted, which motion
u>pon vote- was carried., ,
:°ihereupon it was-moved by Councilman ;Stokes; seconded by. Councilman IvIerrifield
.that the clerk be instructed to get prices on a new typewriter for the water department
office,. which. motion :upon,-vote was carved. ";
Thereupon h7r. Taus was called on, who stated that:. he was ins tructed by the property
owners Association to ask the Council to declare a cleanup week. Also that this Association
would ele:an up, the City beach if.the City,wouldshelp.out wi h aheir trucks and men.

Cleaning: up the beacr. met with the full ,:cooperation of: the"Council and Park Comu?issioner

i4'hereupon it was moved by Councilman :Stokes, seconded by Councilman Smith that the
Tylayor be authorized to declare a proclamation for cleanup week, Oct. 20, 1947 to October
25,194'7 and have same published, which motion upon vote was carried.

Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Stokes, seconded by Merrifiel~,
the Councilman Allen, Street Commissioner, have no dumping signs with part I
of City-Ordinance stating-Elbe posted on the`apprnach to City dump, II

iB~ a Street. grader, One Man P;iaintainer, which could be purchased for I

Whereupon it was moved by Council~aan t,lhen, second,,ed by Tiayor ~)
Tarpley that the clerk be instructed to__,advert>i`ze for b~d~_,for the above
equipment, bids to be opened at the November 10th 'meeting, which motion li
upon vote was carried.
III 5hereupon it was moved by Councilman Stokes, seconded by Council- ~;~
llaan Smith that the clerk be authorized to sell to T;r. Truiett the old '~
III model A pickup truck owned by the City, ~rJhich motion upon vote was
carried.
.Uhereupon it was moved by Councilman P,-;errifield, seconded by
Councilman Smith that the fire department on their drill night be in-
structed to burn out the ditch between Graham Avenue and Lakeshore
Drive, which motion upon vote was carried.
G'Thereupon it was moved by Councilman A11en, seconded by Councilman
Smith that the Fire Department be authorized to purchase additional
equipment to the amount of ~~100.00 for the newly purchased resuscitator,
which motion upon vote was carried.
Councilman Allen brings up the Lrntter of City Sewer system and
what it needed to bring it up to dat8, stating that T:`r. Biglow of the
1+raiser Engineering Company had been here and made a survey, and would
furnish the City with his report if they so desired.
"whereupon it was moved by Councilman Stokes, seconded by Council-
man Merrifield that Councilman Allen be instructed to get this report
for the next regular meeting and report same to Council, which motion
upon vote was carried.
4irhereupon it was moved by .Councilman tiierrifield, seconded by
Councilman Stokes that the bills be allowed as audited by the Auditing
Committee and clerk instructed to issue warrents for same, which motion
upon vote was carried.
