~', Thereupon some members of the Council and guests present asked the
II reason :for tne.request of Officer Seeds dismissal, the only reason given
at this time was lack of 'cooperat;ion among the: members of the Police
Iii I)epartrnent. _

III Smith that this matter of the police department be tabled for one v~reek

?Vhereupon.it was moved by Councilman"Stokes; seconded'b;* Councilman
i,~errifield that Councilman Allen; Street-Commissioner, be authorized to
employ Dean Fletcher to do some dozer work on the City Dump as needed, sv'nich
motion upon vote'was carried.
Thereupon the clerk read a latter from=the Chamber of Commerce in
regard to the City Council considering; a lower vaater rate for the Elsinore
Union Y1.h:School their reason for this request was that t're School grounds
where ,lawns Vvere'being kept'up were ,used asapark`for-ttie public,-and the
water bills were very high. ,

Couneilma.n Stokes, Fire ``Cornmissioner,.at this time read a letter stating
the condition of the .present resuscitator-and that it was not `recommended for
repair, and-.that anew one fully equipped' would cost the City X571.95, Fire Chief
being present explained the~t^rorkings and advantages of the new one, it having
many improvements over the one now ovaned by the City.

T~errifield that the :Fire. Corami ssioner -ahd Fire' Chief -be authorized t'o order a ne<v
resuscitator and have sa_nie demonstrated to the fire department'`vahch motion was

Thereupon the clerk read resolution No. 480, a resolution declaring resolution
null and void as of this date, .`September 22 1947.
?'s'hereupon it was moved by Councilman 1111en, seconded by Councilman Stokes that
resolution nTo• 4g0 bepasaed"and adopted as read, i~^ihich mot"ion upon vote was carried.
Thereupon the Clem-reed a-letter Srom-City attorhey Best stating that as the
G;ty ova*ned property undor :;the waters of":Lake Elsinore';' it was his -opinion that the City
could legally useCitJ-.funds for protecting said property.
As tr~is. time a nu1~!ber: present-.spoke on the matter of- the Lake and the .lsinore
Protective Ass'rz, but no action taken by the Council other than when the time came and
th,e Council thought:. it necessary,:,tl-iey could help out with City,i'unds.

l~'7r. F~a1en and others present brought u,p the matter of decorations
for Christmas in stores and on City Streets.
?}?hereupon it was moved by Councilman ilerrifield, seconded by
Councilman Allen that the Council go on record as supporting the
Christmas decorations and that the n!?ayor be authorized to call a mass.
meeting for October 7, 1g4~, for appointing committees for said
decorations, wi:ich motion upon vote was carried.
~Rr. Dancer of '?est Pottery Street asked the Council for Stop
sign and a pedestrian walk for Pottery and Langstaff stxeets; was
told by Councilman Allen, Street Cornissioner, tr_at he v-could see if
tr:is could be done.
;':mereupon it was ~~.oved by Councilman Allen, second by Councilman
Stokes that the Deputy City Attorney be authorized to have Ordinance
26g amended by adding; one or more sections for two hour parking on
?::"ain Street from Limited to eald and on Graham and Peck one block
west, also east to alley Peck. t']1;ich motion upon vote was carried.

Stokes ti!at the office of Pound P.?aster be declared vacant as of this
date, which motion upon vote was carried.

Councilman Allen that the bills be allooved as audited by the auditing
coTLeittee and clerk be instructed to issue warrants for same, which
motion upon vote wa.s carried.
