A regular adjourned meeting oP the City Council oP the City of
Elsinore. was held on the above date. The meetng„was called to order-at
the hour oP 7:30 P.M. with Mayor Tarpley in the oha-r. _

Thereupon the clerk read the minutes oP the June 9th. meeting and
there being no errors or ommissions were approved as read.
There upon. the clerk .read resolution N0.4.61 a resoluton_granting
J.E.Selcer and:.Harvey M,Selcer a license-and Franchise on condition that
he receive a Franchise from public Utilities Commission, on We~berly
thirty Peet of. Southerly six hundred,feet of Spring Street for fifteen
years...
Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Stokes second by 1~ayor~Tan}~ley
that resolution N0.[~61 be adopEed as read and the Mayor. and clerk be
authorized to-sign same,whchmotion was, carried by the following vote.

that the license fee-.For J.e.Seleer and Harvey M.Selcer be set at. thirty
two dollars per year payable in advance,whieh motion was carried by
the following vote.

Thereupon the clerk read a letter from Paefie Coast Electrical
bureau stateing that the 194'7 Electrical code would be ready~an a short
time and advised waiting for it before adopting an ed.eetiical code.
Whereupon it was moved by Councilman-Smith second: by Councilman
Stokes that the matter oP adopting an Electrical code be tabled untill
the 191:~~ code was available,whieh motion upon vote>was carried.
Councilman.Allen Street Commission Reports that-:Dean Fletcher. was
rading some of the Streets that-came under the agreement with the-State
o be'paid from the,4 cent special gas tax fund.Also reports thatra man
rom the Dept of State Highways would be in Elsinore within a Pew days
o line up a program for the repairing of more streets with special gas
ax fund~a~ Also reports that red wood posts were now available Por Street
igns.
Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Allen second by Councilman
tokes that the Street Dept. be authorized to purchase up to two

Mayor Tarpley at this time states to the Council that good oak chairs
could be purchasedfor Pve dollars'eaeh,one of them being in the Council
chamber Por them to see ,Also asked that he be `authorized to buy a'desk chair
for his office.
Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Allen second by ~'ouncihnan Merrifield
that the matter of buying chairs for Pive dollars each be-tabled,which motion upon vote was
eattied.
Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Stokes second, by councilman Allen that the mayofr be
kuthorized to purchase a chair for'his ofPice,at the cost oP`eght dollars,

that Police Dept be authorized to purchase an extra battery for °emergeney,
which motion upon vote was carried..
Whereupon it'was moved by'`'ouneilman Merrifeld•second by Councilman Allen
<that Police Dept be authorized,to put red'ligh,t on top of Flagstaff Hill into
working eondition,whieh motion upon vote was carried.
Thereupon the `'lerk read Ordinance N0,2T] an ordinance to adopt the
uniform building code. (1946 eddition) published by Pacific Coast Building
officials conference.
Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Merrifield second by Councilman. Smith
:.that ordinance`NO.2~']'be passed to''its second reading,which motion was carried

Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Merrifield second by Councilman
Stokes that being as Mr Chudliegh had violated certain`olauses in his
lease with the City of Elsinore that said lease be declared noil and void
and':that`the deputy City`attorney Mr Gediman so notify Mr hudliegh,which
~motionupon vote was-carried. - ^
RWhereupon it was moved by ~ouncilmAro Stokes second by councilman
Allen that:-a strip of Poe Street Prom Lakeshore'to the water be`blacktoped
oii`the now'used'street instead oP the Street as shown on'map,which motion
upon vote ivas carried.
b'dhereupon it was moved by`~ounclman`Merrifield second by Councilman
Smith that the meeting adjourn to meet again on'Monday June `23rd, at the
..regular time and place,which motion upon vote 'was carried.

A regular adjourned meeting of he City Council of the City of
Elsinore was held on the above date. `:The meeting was called to order
at the hour of 7:30 P.M. with Mayor Tar~ley in the chair.
Councilmen John Allen, >;esle Merrifield, ud. P. Smith,-Fred
Stokes .and Mayor Tarpley answered roll ca1L
Thereupon the'elerk"read the minutes of the June 9th meeting
'and there being no errors or omissions were approved as read.
'Thereupon the`clerk,read resolution No. x.61, a resolution
granting J: E:"Seleer and Harvey Ib4. Selcer a license and franchisee

Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Stokes second-by Mayor
Tarpley tfiat the license fee for J. E. Seleer and Harvey Tai. Selcer be
set at thirty two dollars per year, payable in advance, vdlich motion
was carried by the following vote:

Vlhereupon it was .moved by Councilman Smith second by Councilman
Stokes that the matter oP adopting an Electrical code be tabled until
.the 1947 code was available, which motion upon vote was. carried.
Councilman'Allen, Street .Commissioner, reports that Dean_Fletcher
was grading some of the streets that came under the agreement with the
State to be paid from the 1/1~ cent special gas tax fund. Also reports
that a man from the Dept, of State Highways would be in Elsinore within
a few days to line up a program for the repairing of more streets with
- - special gas tax funds. Also reports that fed wood posts were now
available for Street signs.

the-Street_Dept. be authorized to purchase np to two hundred_l~x4x8 red wood posts from
Dill Lumber Co. @ X1.09 each, which motion was carried by the following vote:

Mayor Tarpley at this time states to the'Council that good oak chairs could be
purchased P.or five dollars each, one of them being in the Council Chamber for them to
see. Also asked that he be authorized to buy a desk chair .f or his office.
Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Allen,. second_by Councilman Merrifield that the
matter of buying chairs for five .dollars each be tabled, which motion upon vote was carried.
Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Stokes, second by ,Councilman Allen that the Mayor
be authorized`to purchase a chair for his 'office,' at the cost of eight dollars, which motion
upon vote was carried.
Whereupon it was`moved''by Couhcilmam Allen,.second by Councilman Stokes that Police Dept.
be authorized to purchase an extra battery for emergency, which motion. up on vote was carried.
Vhereupon it was moved by Councilman Merrifield, second by`Councilman Allen that Police
Cept. be authorized to put red light on .top of Flagstaff Hill into working condition, which
motion upon vote was carried.
Thereupon the Clerk read Ordinance No. 277, an ordinance to adopt the uniform building code.

TPThereupon it was moved by Councilman P~?errifield, second by Councilman Smith that Ordinance
No. 277-be passed to its second reading, which motion was carried by th'e following vote:

Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Stokes second by Councilman Allen that a strip of Poe
Street from Lakeshore to the water be blacktopped on the now used street instead of the street
as,shown on map, ~~ ich motion upon vote was carried.
Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Merrifield; second by Councilman Smith that the
meeting adjourn to meet again on Mnnday dune 231~.d. at, the regular time acid place, which motion
upon vote was carried.

ti~hereupon 'it'ivas moved by Councilman Merrifield second by Councilman Stokes that being as
Mr. Chudliegh had violated certain clauses in his lease with the City of Elsinore that said
lease be declared nul and void and that the deputy City,Attorney, Mr. Gediman so notify Mr. Chud-
liegh, which motion upon vote was carried.
