That the Council appoint one or more of their members to contact the chairman of the flood control district to get action on the cleaning of ditch running through the Cit3* before the .rainy season set in. Repair north end o£ Spring St so as it would be passable as requested by Ns. Green of the Frey Ranch. Grading, trim trees and oil. Grant request of the Elsinore Yellow Cab Co. for a stand on Graham Ave. at Sterlihg Pharmacy corner. Councilman Yarborongh reported at this time that the Grammer School would like Lindsay Street cut down about 6 feet. Planning Commission had discussed this project but made no recommendations as their wanted to investigate more as to what it would do to other property accross the Street. Yhereupon it was moved by Councilman Yarborough second by Councilman Penrod th the lowering of Lindsay Street be tabled til next regular meeting, which motion upon vote was carried. i '~ Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Yarborough second by Councilman Morton that the repairing of North Spring Street as requested by Mr. Green be tabled till next ijmeeting, v~nich motion upon vote was carried. I ~~ Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Yarborough second by Councilman Morton that the City Clerk be instructed to write Division of Highways for their approval of a Taxi ~Istand at Sterling Pharmacy corner o£ Graham Ave., Gdhich motion upon vote was carried. I~ I~~ Thereupon the Clerk read Ordinance No. 292 an ordinance legalizing the game o£ Bridgeo in the City o£ Elsinore and setting license rate and rules of operation. ~~ Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Yarborough second by Councilman Penrod that ~~Ordinance No. 292 be passed to .its second reading, which motion was passed by the ' £ollowing vote. Mr. Tavis Chairman of the Planning Commission sand W,P. Smith of the Elsinore Plumbing-Shop both spoke on the Inspector question and suggested that a qualified man be appointed. j Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Yarborough second by councilman Penrod that) ~jno action be taken on the applicants for Inspector at this time and that .Police Officer ~ jBarber be appointed temporary inspector untill such time as a n appointment was made, which motion upon vote was carried. ll.R. Crane President of the Chamber of Commerce asked the Council for the use of ~jthe City owned Carnival Grounds for the Labor day holidays as they were planning a big jprogram. ' Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Yarborough second by Councilman Penrod that j,the request of the Chamber of Commerce be granted and the Clerk inform them by letter of lthe Councils action, which motion upon vote was carried. Mr. Hunt Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce explained to the Council the pro- ~)I (posed forming of a Park Recreation district £or Lake Elsinore useing the same boundarie$~ as the Elsinore Union Grammer School. !~~ Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Penrod second by Councilman Yarborongh that ' j (the City Council approve the forming of a Park Recreation district useing the Elsinore , 11 ;Union Grammer School boundaries as the boundaries of said proposed park district in accordance with Public Resources Code, which motion upon vote was carried. i~ I Thereupon the Clerk read a claim of Louis Hanson for lloctor bills and loss of \' Mime caused br his falling on the ramp approach to sidewalk at corner of Main and Graham. Also a claim of Mrs. Begman who claimed to have damaged a tire beyond repair on a city water shut off at Graham and Chestnut Streets. ~I Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Yarborough second by Councilman Penrod that s jthese claims3b'e.anrned over to the Insurance Co. Which motion upon vote was carried. j Thereupon the Clerk read a petition from the residents of Smith Addition with fifty-four signers that the City install street lights in that section of the City. This matter be turned over to Councilman Yarborough Street Commissioner for investigati and report finding back to the Council. Mr. Kolkey talked on the Post Office location stating to the City council that if a trade of progerty could be made there was a possible chance that the Post office could be located on ~dest Graham Ave, P7o action on this matter. ~ Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Penrod second by Councilman Yarborough that 'the bills be allowed as audited by the auditing committee and Clerk instfueted to issue ~liwarrents for same, which motion upon vote was carried. li Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Yarborough second by Councilman Penrod that the meeting adjourn to meet again on Monday August 16, 1918 as an adjourYigd meeting, at (the regular time and place. tidhich motion upon vote was carried. ing P a r City Clerk
