A regular meeting of the Ci£y Council of the City of Elsinore was held on the
above date. The rieeting was called to .order at the hour of 7:30 P.P•_; with Mayor
~ Tarpley in the chair.

;~ Thereupon the Clerk read the minutes of the Nlay 24th, 1948 and the Special
Meeting of N4ay 26, 1948 and there being no errors or ommissions were approved as read

A Final report of the Planning Commission o£ the City= of Elsinore recommendi
the rezoning of Lots 1,2,3,20,21,22,23,40,41,42,43,44 a-nd 61 of Elsinore Heights Unit
No. 5 of the Tovm of Elsinore, by removing the same from Zone "R3" and placing the
same in a "Bl" Zone was received,

that a public hearing thereon be set for Monday June 28, 1948 at the hour of 8:00 0'
clock P,Ni, before the City Council at the Council Chamber at the City Hall of the City
o£ Elsinore, and that notice thereof be published once in the Elsinore Leader Press a
weekly newspaper published in the City of Elsinore, which motion was carried by the
following vote,

A tentative report of the Planning Commission of the City of Elsinore upon
proposed ammendment of Ordinance 236 of the City of Elsinore as follows.
To provide for a new subsection to be added to Section 1 of said Ordinance, to
!provide that the following described property should be placed in Zone B 1-A:
That portion of the City= of Elsinore, described as follows: Commencing at
~~the intersection o£ the westerly line o£ Poe Street with the southerly city limits of
''said city; thence northerly along the westerly line of Poe Street and said westerly
line extended to a point 120 feet southerly from the southerly line of Graham Avenue;
thence easterly on a line parallel with the southerly line of Graham Avenue and distant
120 feet therefrom to the westerly line of Langstaff Street; thence northerly along
the westerly line of Langstaff Street to a point 150 feet north of the northerly line
of Graham Avenue; thence vresteriy on a line parallel with the northerly li.~e of Graham
Avenue and distant 150 feet northerly therefrom to t're center line of Lindsay Street;
thence southerly along the center line of Lindsay Street to its intersection vrith
center line of Lakeshore Drive; thence westerly along the center line of Lakeshore
Drive to the wasterly line o£ Lot 19, Block 8 of Lakeshore Drive Addition extended
(northerly; thence southerly along the easterly line of said .Lot 19, Block 8 and Lot 19,

house, swiinrling pool, hotel,. motel, auto court or professional offices; and
That the City Council of the Cit;r of Elsinore be requested to fix ~ date for

Thereupon the clerk read Resolution No. 509 a resolution renewing the Contract,
for the services of the County Health Dept. for the period of July 1, 194$ to June 30,
1949.
thereupon it was moved by Councilman Penrod second by Councilman Morton that
Resolution No. 509 be adopted and passed as dead, which motion was carried by the
following vote.

Thereupon the Clerk read a letter from Attorney John Gabbert in behalf of Mrs.
Gertrude FIenderson owner of the Lakeview Hotel requesting the closing of the west 110
feet of Librar~> St.
t^Tnereupon it was moved by Councilman Yarborough second by Councilman Hudson
that the request of Mrs. IIenderson be tabled till the next meeting, which motion upon
vote was carried.
This being the time and place as advertised for 6he opening of bids for the
repair of the City Reservoir No. 2 the Following bids *aere read by the Clerk. Robert
Patnaude, General Contractors X9,446.00, Johnson ;destern Gunite Co ., "'7,434.00, Case
Gunite Co., >7,650.00, Macco Corp. X6,636.00.•
Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Penrod second by Councilman Yarborough
that being that the bid of the Macco Corp. w~ the low bid it be accepted, which motion
was carried by the following vote.

that Street Commissioner Yarborough be authorized to employ Dean Fletcher to do some
work on the road to the reservoir so as to get equipment over said road for repairing
which motion upon vote was carried.

Thereupon the clerk read a letter from the County Health Department stating
the condition. of the City sewer disposal plant and the set^rer system as a whole, t'rat
it was a menace to health and would have to be repaired.
i~ir. Miller County Health Officer being present explained to the Council that
if something wasn~t done in the ver~r near future the State would revoke the Cities
sewer permit.

that the letter from the Health Dept. be published in the newspapers, which motion upon
vote was carried.

that the city eatploy a consulting engineer to work vrith the City engineer to make plan
specifications and surveys for a sewer bond issue, which motion was carried by the
following vote.

!from Mrs. Leese asking the Council to have life a ards on the City Heath, at least over i
!week-ends during summer season. This subject turned over to Park Commissioner, i

Dept, and organizations Vrithin the City. To report back at the next meeting.

Thereupon the Clerk read the resignation of T.R. Yarborough as a member of
Elsinore Planning Commission.
thereupon it was moved by Councilman Penrod second by Councilman Morton that

Thereupon the clerk read the resignation of Mayor Tarpley as a member of the
Elsinore Plau?ning Commission.

oweing to the increased cost of material and labor that the charge for installing new

lattice work, band stand and benches painted at the park, which motion upon vote was
