~ A regular meeting oP the City Council of the City of Elsinore was held on. the.
I above date.The meeting was called to order at the hour of 7:30 P.M, with Mayor
Tarpley in the chair.

Councilman; Samuel Farber,Fred Penrod,J.J.Tavis,T.R.Yarborough and Mayor

Thereupon the clerk read the minutes of the May, 9,1949 meeting and there being
no errors or omissions were approved as read.
Thereupon the Clerk read a letter from the Library Board in regards to a new
location for a public Library. The Southwest corner of Graham Ave and Langstaff St.
being a n acceptable location and recommended a 20x60 ft two wing L shape building
with basement.This was taken under advisment by the Council for action at a future
date.
Councilman Farber Spoke for Mrs Farkas in regards to a sewer line that had been
broken by City Maintenance crews,Mrs Farkas coming in at this time also spoke on this,
~ Asking that the City pay-for repairs.This turned over to Councilman Yarborough Street
Commissioner for inveastagation.
~~ Mr Harvey Platt County Radio Supervisor being prsent presented to the Council a
1i renewal agreement for radio service for the coming fiscal year said agreement being the
ii same as in past years.
(~~ Thereupon the Clerk read resolution No.564 a resolution authorizing the Mayor and
~j City Clerk to sign a agreement for radio service between the City of Elsinore and the
County of Riverside.

' Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Penrod second by Councilman Tavis that
Resolution No.564 be pass2d and adopted as read which motion was carried by the
following vote.

!i~ Thereupon the clerk read a claim of damages against the City of Elsinore presented
~I by Lena Zacks,she claiming to have fallen and injured herself by reason of a broken
' sidewalk.

~nihereupon it was moved by Councilman Farber second by Councilman Yarborough that
the claim of Mrs Zacks be rejected and the Attorney unformed of said action,which
i motion was carried by the following vote.

Thereupon the clerk read resolution No.565 authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk
to sign a deed granted to E.D.Patterson for property on West Graham Ave.Also read:the
it deed discribing said propertyo

Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Farber second by Councilman Yarborough that
Resolution No.565 be passed and adopted as read which motion was carried by the !,

1 Thereupon the City Clerk reported that the City could not purchase the property
that was tax title which had been considered as a dump site with it being put up for
bids as it was located outside of the City limits.
Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Tavis second by Councilman Penrod that said
! matter be tabled untill Counciman Yarborough Street Commissioner could investage
1 further, which motion upon vote was carried.
! Councilman Yarborough Street Commissioner reported that the work of Improvments on I
East side of Main °t. lookout Street and Sumner Ave. was goining on satisfactbrly but it
' the cost would probly be more that expected. j
~I Councilman Tavis Water & Fire Commissioner reported that he thought that if all ,
ICI weeds were burnt off it would help get chid of the knats.As the list of property owners
!I and there addresses had not-Dome form County tax collectors office the matter was
it tabled untill said list came. ~I.

4 j Mr Beal at this time took the floor and read a letter accusing Inspector John I

I~ Di Giacomo of various violations in connection with his duties as Building,Plumbing j
Ili and Electrical Inspectoro

Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Yarborough second by Councilman Penrod that
- the Council disregard the accusations against °aid Inspector John viGiacomo,whieh
motion was carried by the following vote.

j ~ Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Farber second by Councilman Penrod that the
appointment of a member to fill the vacany on the Planning Commission be tabled untill
~ next meeting,which motion upon vote was carried.
~~ j~ Mr Harmon again reported that the Maintenance Dept. was in need of new tires for
some of its equipment.
Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Yarborough second by Councilman Tavis that j ,
i~ir Harmon be authorized to purchase new tires as needed,a~os to get the best price ~' ~
Prom dealers which motion upon vote was carried. ~ ~

Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Yarborough second by Councilman Penrod that ;
Councilman Tavis be allowed to purchase from the City the old Motor replaced by a jl
i new one,also frame for same at the price of ~36.OO,which motion upon vote was carried.

Fmereupon it was moved by ounciiman Tavis second by Councilman Yarborough that
the bills be allowed as audited by the auditing committee and clerk instructed to is
warrents for same,which motion upon vote was carried.
Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Yarborough second by Councilman Penrod that
meeting be adjourned to meet again on I"bnda~ June,13,1949 at`the regular time and
place which motiom upon vote was .carried.
