Councilmen: T. J. Hudson, Fred Penrod, J. J. Tavis, 1^. R. Yarborough and hfayor J. A. Tarpley answered. roll call. Thereupon the clerk read the minutes of the S~Tarch 14, 19LF9 meeting and there being no errors or omissions rorere approved as read. Building Inspector Di Giacomo reported that as anew building was gtong in on Nain Street, between Graham and Peck (east side) it should be lot=rered to grade. Therefore the complete block betcaeen the Joe Seitz store and the Ylarer Drug Store should be lowered and widened---City to pay for lowering and curb,--Property-ot,rners .for new side traik, #4 `nRtereupon it was moved by Councilman Yarborough, seconded by Councilman Penrod that this work be authorized to be done by City crew. The widening of the North side of Main Street through the Plaza block broug up at this time, but it was reported that no definite plans had been presented to the Council by the owners. `:'thereupon it =~aas moved by Councilman Penrod, seconded by Councilman Yarborough that this matter be tabled-~ which motion upon vote was carried. P1r. Browning, of the Riverside Health Department, being present wa.s called on in regard to the lake knat situation. He stated that it was not a health matter but would be more than glad to help out in any Dray he could. He explained the life of said knats and how they were bred. Very hard to control except for the ones on flight Urnich could be killed by sprayring. Nr. Long of the Fog Pest Control Co. of San Bernardino told the Council that the}r could spray the City and get rid of these knats but suggested =waiting till after the rainy season was over. No action by the Countii on this subject. Mr. Harmon reported to the Council that the Chevrolet dump truck would have to have a motor-overhaul or a new motor, He recommended the new motor at a cost of approximately '300.00 i~~Ihereuion it was moved by Councilman Yarborough, seconded by Councilman Tavis that 1~1r. Harmon be authorized to have a new motor installed in the dump truck which :notion upon vote =was carried. Piayor Tarole;> reported that so;ne corn;~laints were being made on the news- papers rabks on the sides-ralks in front of stores. Penny scales having been ordered removed, racks should also be rerruoved. Tarpley requested of the Council that the parking in front of the City Ha11 be changed as the cars were not parkin:; illegal in front of the fire sta ',+lhereupon it was moved by Councilman Tavis, seconded b~= Councilman Yarborough that the Traffic 0-rdinance be amended so as to have no parking of any kind i•~ithin 15 feet of either side of the Fire Station and to paint gray two car spaces on both sides of these 15 feet '~No Parking--For Police and. Kolkey reported that parts of Lakeshore Drive was in ver~r bad shape and needed some repair work done, Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Penrod, seconded by Councilman Tavis that Councilman Yarborough, Street Commissioner, make an idspection of this matter and report back to the Council at the next regular meeting, ~riich motion upon vote was carried, Thereupon the Clerk read Resolution No. 558 a resolution appointing Val C.
