P,Idt, with Mayor 4Washburn in the chair.. Couneilman:Samuel Farber,Ro~ Macy,J.S,Tavis,Ray Hull and Mayor ~ Edson.?+'dashburn-answer roll call. Thereupon the read the minutes of the September,25,1950 meeting and ,~ there being no errors or omissions were approved as read. Thereupon Mayor Washburn read the resignation of Paul Kuenzli as, City C1erk,tNater Clerk and License clerk said resignation effective November,1,1950. whereupon it was moved by Mayor washburij, second by Councilman Hull that the reignation of Paul Kuenzli be accepted,which motion upon vote was carried. After some discussion as to a sucesessor to Paul Kuenzli the matter was tabled till Monday Oetober,16,1g50. SWhereupon it was noved by Mayor Washburn second by Counciman Macy that an adjourned meeting be held Monday October,16,1950,which motion upon vote was carried. Mr Patterson President of the local Chamber of Commerce was called on at this time and he read the proposed plans for the developement of the Lake and water in general for the valley this being a three County project. '+VYiereupon it was moved be Councilman Farber second ,by Councilman H that the City Counoil indorse this project as outlined by P1,r atterson which motion upon vote was carried,: Thereupon the Clerk read Ordinance No 333 an ordinance of intention of the closeing of Silver Street between Graham and Heald Avenue's. =Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Farber second by Councilman &~aey that ordinance No.333 be passed and adopted as read and clerk instructed to have same published once in the Elsinore Leader Press; which motion was carried by the following vote. Councilman barber read letter from American Legion asking City . Council to fly Flag every day at City Hall and City Park. [r~hereupon it was moved by Councilman Maey second by Councilman Hull that P,Sayor ti~ashburn be authorized to put up a new flagpole in front center of City hall,whieh motion upon vote was carried. Councilman Tavis Police Commissioner asked about the Street and sewer survey maps that were to be delivered by Bulot and Crane was ' informed that part of these maps were here and balance to follow. repor e that Judge needed a typewriter. t^?hereupon it eras moved by Councilman Tavis second by Councilman Hul a that a typewriter be purchased for`Judge barber not to exceed X60.00 which motion upon vote vvas carried. Thereupon th.e Clerk read resolution RTO.b3b,a resolution appointing Harold Zimmerman as a reuglar police officer Fs'hereupon it was moved by Councilman Tavis second by Councilman IIull that resolution No.b36 be passed and adopted as read,which motion was ~I carried by the following vote. Couneilraan Farber Yes " " ~4acy Yes Noes None ~ " " Tavis Yes " " Hull Yes Absent None Councilman Tavis bruoght up the question as to whether the City was going to make a donation towards the rain making program which he was very much in favor of.Cther members of the Council suggested that i this be further investagated before any action was taken. r~ ereupon it eras moved by Councilman Tavis second by R4ayor k°ashburn that as a permit had been received from the Division of Highways-that the Traffic Lays Strictly Inforced signs be instal~,ed., high motion upon vote was carried. ~ t°~hereupon it was moved by Councilman b~iacy Second by II~.Y@Bi~ashburn that the City advertize for bids for tine hauling and picking up of garbage and tivaste matter and Street sweeping,4vhieh motion was lost by tl e following motion. Engineering Co. regarding Sewer disposal plant.Pomroy rind ukestcott offers to do certain engineering work for ~1000.00.Currie engineering C stateing that-they will make changes in plans to-suit the Counil.Currie to be asked to come over and meet with the Council. Councilman t'y:acy asks that bids be published for gasoline but on request of other members of the Council this .was tabled till mext rneeti. Whereupon it was moved by Councilman 1'avis second by Councilman Hul that the bills be allowed as audited by the auditing'Coimnittee and the clerk instructed to issue warrents for same,which motion upon vote was carried. Whereupon it was moved by Councilman 'Davis second by Councilman Hull that the report of tha 4"reusurer and city clerk be accepted as audited and ordered filed.whieh motion upon vote was carried. khereupon it vvas moved by Councilman iavis second by Councilman Hull that the report of the water and license clerk be accepted and ordered filed,which motion upon vote was carried. Whereupon it was moved by Councilman r'arber second by Councilman Macy that the meeting be adjourned to meet again on Tuonday October,l6 1950 as an adjourned meeting,which motion upon vote was carried.
