MEETING HELD ON THE 2$th,

A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of lsinore was
held on the above date. The meeting was called to order at the hour of x;30 P.M.
with Tafayor ?7ashburn in the .chair.
Courieilraan ; Samuel Farber, Roy I"Iacy, J.J.Tavis, Ray Hull and Mayor
Mashburn answer roll call.
Thereupon the Clerk read the minutes of the regular adjourned meeting
of August 21, 1950 and there being no errors or ommissions were approved as read.
Thereupon the Clerk read a letter from Jack Coxon, he reporting a
bad fire hazzard near Iris home in Country Club Heights district. This matter
turned over to Councilman Hull, Fire Commissioner.
Thereupon the Clerk read a report on taxes from the County Auditors
office also reporting balance of 1949-1950 taxes in the amount of ~ 864.61,
which report was ordered filed.
Thereupon the Clerk read the report of the Planning Commission, to
the Council as follows. Recommending that the Council appoint a eommittie on
recreation to trork along the line as suggested by Mr. :Pauly of the State Recrea-
tion Commission, which would work in with the master plan of the Planning Comm-
ission. Recommend to the Council that an ordinance be drawn up to bar self
service gasoline stations in the City of Elsinore. Reports ordered filed for
future reference.
Thereupon the Clerk read Resolution No. 632 a resolution appointing
Clarence V. Hayman as a regular police officer for the City of Elsinore, and
setting salary.
%ihereupon it was moved by Councilman Tavis, second by Councilman Hull
that Resolution No. 632 be passed and adopted as read. Which motion was carried
by the following vote.

Thereupon the Clerk read Resolution No. 633 a resolution appointing
Clarence R. Roethler as a regular police officer of the City of Elsinore and
setting salary.
klhereupon it was moved by Councilman Tavis, second by CounciL~tan Hull
that P~esolution Afo. 633 be passed and adopted as read. Which motion was carried
by the following vote.

in regards to the 'v9est City limit line. No action as this fine had been estab-
lished by the Counby `Pax Office.
NIr. Yeller a relief driver of the Iasinore Taxicab Co., spoke in
regards to the new Ordinance passed that effected cab drivers. He stating that
he thought it to strict. PTo action by the Council.
'thereupon it was moved by Councilman Tavis, second by Councilman Hull-
that the citT? pay the cost of installing a red light and siren on Chief Butch's
car. Said car to be used in emergency for police work. ~dhich motion upon vote
was carried.
Counei]man Tavis, Police Commissioner reported the activities of the
Police Department for the month of August, stating the number of citations given
and number of ordinance violation arrests.
Thereupon the Clerk reported that a petition sigmed by property owners
on North Silver Street, had been turned in, protesting the proposed closing of
Silver Street, between Graham and Heald Avenues.
':Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Tavis, second by Councilman Hull
that the second reading of Ordinance T1o. 332, the o~tdinance declairing intention
of closing Silver Street be tabled. 's?ihich motion caas carried by the £olloiuing
vote.

tCouncilman Hull Fire Commissioner, reported that the regular fireman
were to get special training, and thought the men should get paid for the time
the same as at drills.
G7hereupon it was moved by Councilman Hull, second by Mayor 6dashburn
that the regular firemen be allowed pay while getting said special training.
~•Ihich motion upon vote was carried.
Chief Burch reported on the Chie£ of Police meeting held at Newport
Beach, being mostly on civilian defense, and as the main speaker had failed to
get there, another meeting was being called at Corona, within two creeks for
more details on civilian defense.
t4ayor Washburn reported on League meeting held at Redlands, stating
that he had brought up the water question at that time. explaining what Elsinore
had to offer.
~dhereupon it was moved by Councilman Tavis, second by Councilman Hull
that the bills be allowed as audited by the auditing conunitti.e, and Clerk
instructed to issue warrants for same. 'vdhich motion upon vote was carried.
l~hereupon it Baas moved by Counci]man Tavis, second by Councilman Hull
that the meeting by adjourned to meet again on Monday September, 11, 1950 at
