DAY OF lta3'a I9 50 A regular meeting of the City Council of the CitSr of r~lsinore was held on the above date. The meeting was called to order at the .hour o£ 7;30 P.M. with Ma;ror 4Jashburn in the chair. Cotmcilman; Samuel Farber, Roy Macv, J.J.Tavis, Ray Hull, and Mayor [Iashburn answer roll call i Thereupon the Clerk read the minutes of the April 24, 1950 meeting and there being no errors or omissions were approved as read. Councilman Farber Street Commissioner, reported that A1rs. Merrifield and others near her property had requested the installing of a sewer line. 'Phis I matter tabled £or investigation as to grade levels, and how many this line as suggested would serve. i Thereupon the Clerk read the report o£ the Planning Commission to the Council. Gdhich report was ordered filed for future referance. ~ I ~ Councilman Farber Street Commissioner, reported that he had requests for removal of parkway trees, also for trimming of trees, and asked what proceedure was to be used in this work. Upon suggestion of members of the Council the matter of uarkwa~r trees,- parkways, and tree trimming, was turned over to the Park Commissioner by Mayor ?dashburn. This releaving the Street Commissioner o£ some o£ his duties. Cotmcilman •iacy Park Commissioner to investigate regarding trees ~ that should be removed. I i i ~ i Thereupon the Clerk read two letters, one from Mrs. Gene Adams, asking that Lakeshore Drive be improved, and one from property owners on North Yellogg Street, asking that their block be surfaced to keep down the dust. Councilman Farber Street Co~mu ssioner, reported on Lakeshore Drive, stating that the Division of Highways had suggested that this street be improved under a improvement act, and not maintenance as it needed more that allowed on ~ a maintenance job. ?~Ihereupon it was moved by Councilman Hull second by Councilman Farber that Lakeshore Drive be set up as an improvement program with gax tax funds I during the fiscal year 1950-1951. 1'~hich motion was carried by the following vote. ~ Councilman Farber Yes " ° t=lacy Yes does ; Prone " " Tavis Yes Hull Yes Absent ; Prone ' I.1a3ror 6dashburn Yes , The matter of more street lights, and higher wattage for those now in use eras brought up, but no action by the Council. I~ir. Currie also presented forms for application for State aid for partial payment of said disposal plant. Howard Electric Shop, I . bid of $V 459.65 --- Mapes rJlectric Co., bid of ~ 773.00. Bids tabled with authority ~ ,a I given Councilman riacy to proceed if he seen fit. ehereupon it was moved by Councilman r^arber, second by Councilman Hull ~ that the Glerk be authorized to turn over copies of certain contracts to the State Department of ~'sxgineers. ~rdhich motion upon vote was carried. ~ I :Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Farber, second by Councilman Tavis i that a financial report be given to the Lake Elsinore ~~alley Sun, as reouested for their first aruxivesery edition of the paper to come out 24ay 18, 1950. ~~+dhich j motion upon vote was carried. Spring Street, was to be closed the payment of partial rent by the City be discontinued. ?+Ihich, motion upon vote was carried. Thereupon the Clerk read Resolution No.-609, a resolution authorizing the transfer of the sura of ~ 1,507.00 from the General Fund, to the 1949 Sewer Disposal Piant llznd. ?^dich motion was carried by the following vote. Cities meeting at Colton on biay 1y, 1950. Letter ordered filed. At this time Roger D4a~~na11, President of the t'slsinore Atheletic and Recreation Club, was called on and he explained to the Council their sammer recreation plans with a soft ball club, and that they had to have the soft drink consession to r+reet expenses. In this way the merchants would not be asked for donations. Objection to this was raised by the owners of the Boat Landing Cafe, locates near the ball park. Thereupon the Clerk read Resolution No. 611, a resolution authorizing the ~•iayor and Clerk to sign an agreement with the Club for them to lease the soft drink stand from this date to November 1, 1950• lydhereupon it was moved by Councilman Macy, second by Councilman Hull that resolution Sdo. 611, be passed and adopted as read. 1!hich motion was carried by the following vote. Some progress having been rsa,de, and then the hearing postponed to Julq 11, 1950 giving them more time to gather data. Councilman t4acy reported that the cost of this hearing was to be born by the water orginazations of the valley grid not by the city alone. Which motion upon vote was carried. i ' hereupon it was moved by Couneilrian `i'avis, second by Councilman Macy that the Dog License Dept. be authorized to purchase 1951 dog tags as needed. Which motion upon vote was carried.: t Mr. Rosen was called on and he asked that an ordinance be adopted to keep ;;uv>~niles off the streets late at night in cars. He was informed that the i present curfew ordinance covered this, and Councilman Tavis Police Comnussioner i stated that he would instruct the police dept. to inforne said cerfew ordinance. i Thereupon the Clerk read Resolution No. 612, a resolution appointing John R. Di Giacomo as Ass!•.t. Street Supt, for the period while street improvement work was being done on projects l2 (B) and project 13. hereupon it was moved by Councilman Farber, second by Councilman Macy ~ r that resolution P1o. 612 be passed and adopted as read.
