D1LY:OF April, ~ 19 5G -~$ERVICY_tye FORM J72 6TANOARO MIN UTE A regular meeting of .the City Council o£ the-City of r;lsinore was held on the above date. The meeting was called to order at the hour of 7;30 D.M. with T4avor ?'Mashburn in the chair. Counclran Samuel i~arber, J.J.'iavis, Ray Hull, and Mayor 4dashburn answer roll call. Councilman Penrod absent: Thereupon the Clerk read the minutes of the adjourned meeting held on i.pril 18, 1950, and there being no errors or omissions were approved as read. Thereupon the Clerk read a letter from Mr. George Srittnezr, Chairman of the Lake lilsiuore Valley t+th. of July Parade and (lvmkhana Committie, asking that the city assist them in the amount of S~ 150.00 towards advertising. ?3ltereupon it was moved by Councilman Farber, second by Councilman Tavis, that the City pay the sum of ?r 50.00 towards said advertising and a letter be sent I~1r. Brittner advising him that the city had no special fund for this advertising, but it was being taken out of the General fund, and could only be paid upon presentation of a statement from the printing company that printed the advertising. ~.•dhich motion was carried by the following vote. This matter refered to the Police Department for their approval and action. Thereupon the Clerk read a letter from the Division of Hirhways regarding the improvement and maintenance projects for street work for the fiscal ,year 1950-1951, asking tlxat this project be planned before July 1, 1950 so as it could be approved by the Department of Public i+Iorks. Councilman Farber, Street Commissioner, made the £ollowing report ; Suggested that the following streets be included in the 1950-51, program. Poe Street, Graham to Heald; Lowell Street Graham to Heald; 311is Street Pottery to Flint; yllis Stn eet Flint to RLinthorn; and Heald Ave. Spring to Langstaff. Stated that time was getting short for the projects that had to be completed by June, and asked for authorization to corrunence work on the improve- ment projects of Limited Ave., from Poe to Langstaff; Langstaff from Limited to Graham Ave; Yoe St. from Stunner to Flint; and Flint St. from Poe to Langstaff, and a maintenance job on Lakeshore Drive as far as funds were available. lditereupon it was moved by Councilman Tavis, second by Councilman Hull, that the street y~rogram as outlined b~ Councilman Farber, Street Commissioner for the projects that had to be completed b~ June 15,1.950, be authorized and work started as soon as possible. DAY OF April, I9 KQ. Councilman Farber Street Cocunissioner, reported that he had a.large number of renuests for the reimoval of parkwa;* trees, and asked what action should be taken. I~ir. Claxtori %harman of the Planning Co-emission, at this time stated to the City Council that the Planning Commission had a program which had been submitted to the Cousrcil for the nlahtinr; of Carab, and Chinese I;]ms, to replace trees that mere removed, and asked that this program be followed. The question of tree removal tabled. Thereupon the Clerk read a lease for the leasing of the refreshment stand at the Ball Park to the ~lsihore Atheletic and Recreation Club, for a period from this date to November 1, 1950. The otimer of the Boat=-Landing Cafe objected to this leasing. itrereupon it was moved by Councilmman Farber, second by Councilman Hull that the granting of this Ball Park Stand be tabled untiL.'_the next meeting. '.lhich motion upon vote was carried. ifayor 'Mashburn reported that the Park Board were to submit to the Council a proposal as to what improvements they would make to the city beach property, if the city would deed them said beach propert-*, but as this proposal had as yet not been received the matter would be tabled till next meeting. Henry Boontjer, Fire Chief, reported that with the dry weather a fire hazard i}muld soon be created by dry grass on a good :many vacant lots thoughout the city, and that some -:,action should be taken by the Council to get said lots cleaned up. Stated that if he had to send out notices he should be paid extra for sending, out notices. '.;reed abatment law brought up by hlr. Claxton and others present. ';thereupon it eras moved by Councilman 'Davis second by Councilman Farber that the Attorney be authorized to draw up a weed abatment Ordinance for the cit«, and present same at next regular meeting for approval. ~dhich motion vras carried b~• the follotiaing vote. Suggested that a smooth finish be put on walls and reservoir covered. tir. Claxton was asked to make an estimate of a cover and red ort same to T~Sayor ritashburn. .flatter tabled for further reports. Councilman i$xll, Park Commissioner, asked for a hose to sprinkle the ball park diamond, was told that there was hose at the City Yard that could be used for this purpose and so ordered. 'Dhereupon the Clerk read the resignation of Councilman Fred Penrod said resignation effective as of this date. thereupon it was moved by Corm Gilman Farber second by Councilman Hull that the resignation of Councilman Penrod be accepted with regrets, and the Clerk write hire a letter of said action and thank him for his co-operation during his time as Councilman.
