- MEETING HELD ON THE
Regular T•ieeting of the City Council City of Elsinore
27th. DAY of March

A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Elsinore was held
on the above date. The meeting was called to order at the hour of 7;30 P.M.
with t•4ayor Tarpley in the chair.
.Councilman; Samuel Farber, Fred Penrod, J.J.Tavis, T.R.Yarborough, and
i P•layor Tarpley ans~rer roll call.
Thereupon the Clerk read the minutes of the regular meeting held on
;larch 13, 1950, and the special meeting. held March 20, 1950, and there being,
no errors or omissions were approved as read.
Councilman Yarborough Street Commissioner, reported that he had looked
at the trucks for which bids had been opened on i~laach 20,1950 e.nd was in favor
o£ the Chevrolet truck of the Central Chevrolet Cd., of Los Angeles, they being
the lo~a bidders.
,dhereupon it was moved by Councilman Yarborough, second by Councilman
Farber that the bid of the Central Chevrolet Co., of Los Angeles, in the amount
of ~ 1,706.21 sales tax included be accepted. Which motion was carried by the
following. vote.

Whereupon it was moved by ia~.ror Tarpley, second by Councilman Farber
that the month of April be declared by Proclorration as a clean up month. ?~dhich
motion upon vote was carried.
Thereupon the Clerk read the recommendations of the Planning Commission
to the Council. P1o action by Council and ordered the report filed.
Councilman Yarborough Street Commissioner, reported that he had requests:
for a number of small street, and curb jobs that he was investigating, also that
` he twould check on more street lights as requested by Mr. Jack Feinstein and
others. i~Ir. Hax,aon Street and `:dater St1pt. reported that his men had checked all
house numbers and found a good many home owners had not put up the new numbers
as instructed by City Ordinance. This Ordinance to be inforced.
Thereupon the Clerk read a letter from the Lutheran Church, they askimg
for a permit to install two church location signs.
G7Yiereupon it was moved by Councilman Farber, second by Councilman Penrod
that their request be granted, and the building inspector instructed to issue
permits. i~thich motion upon vote was carried.
'Thereupon the Clerk read a letter from the State Retirement System in
regards to cost of a survey for the City of Elsinore, letter ordered filed.
Thereupon the Clerk read letters From the 6outhern Calif. =as Co., and
the Calif. electric Power Co., stating the amounts o£ franchise percentage,*;~t?hh
checks attached.

l~Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Penrod, second by Councilman
Yarborough, that the. checks be accepted, and Clerk instructed to deposit in proper
fund..::°Ihich motion upon vote was carried.
Thereupon tRr. Supson of the Currie Engineering Co. of Sah Bernardiho, was
called on, and he made a report as to progress up to date on the engineering of
the new sewer disposal plant. ,•fade some suggestions as to City aquiring more
property near the disposal plant location, and the getting of easements for the
force line from pumps to plant.
thereupon it vaas moved by Counci]rian Tavis, second by Councilman Farber,
that the report of the Currie Engineering Co. be accepted. Fdhich motion upon vote
was carried.
Father Linnerman, o£ the Catholic Church, was present and he asked that
the Council grant him permission to build Borne new buildings on their property
on South Kellogg Street. Said buildings to cost approx. ~? 23,000.00, and would
consist of a recreation hall, kitchen, and for social gatherings, later on plann-
ing to build a school. This being in a R 1, zone the City Council took this
request under advisement until the City Attorney could be consulted.
whereupon it was moved by Councilman Farber, second by Councilman Penrod,
that tor. John R. Pi Giacomo 73uilding Inspector, be granted the last two weeks in
April to go on vacation. •dhich motion upon vote was carried.
hereupon it was moved by Councilman Tavis, second by Councilman Penrod,
that the bills be allowed as audited by the auditing committie, and Clerk
instructed to issue warrents for same. ~nihich motion upon vote was carried.
?Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Yarborough, second by Councilman
Tavis, that the meeting be adjourned, to meet again on D4onday, April 10, 1950,
at the regular time and place. ?+Thich motion upon vote eras carried.
